I love the amazing detail on Richie's hair! You can see ever blond strand and it's just.. Wow! And I do see Virgil's dreads, and they look legit!
Also: Costume design! THUMBS UP! I love the concept of goggles instead of a whole mask for Gear, but, it's understandable. Ebon would have no trouble figuring out that Foley is Gear with goggles like that. At least the mask helps.

I thought about that too. a helmet is more practical: it helps guard his secret identity, while it also serves to protect traumatic head injuries.
but i gotta say: goggles are much more fun to draw

On the one, I love your other coloured pic, I think it's beautiful and has pretty colours. So hush you.

I think it's because without his brain, he has no power. Where V's power is very physical, his isn't. He has to be able to think his way out of situations, and if he gets concussed because he got thrown around a bit, he's defenseless.

true. statics powers are defensive, but gears powers mostly offensive. hes the brains, and he takes the majority of hits out of the two I bet. I kinda wish he would invent something other than his useless zap cap/traps to defend himself with.

Static's powers are kinda multi-purpose. He can attack and defend himself. Gear's fighting style is based on keeping his opponent from getting close enough to do damage by stopping their powers/incapacitating them in some way before they get close. Gear really should invent something that he can use in close-range fights.... O.O Suddenly I'm doing the "brain blast" thing. I'm suddenly thinking some kind of arm band that he can use as some kind of shield, or as a non-lethal weapon. **wanders off to find my sketchpad** Where did I put that thing?

OH MY GOD ME TOO! while I was typing that out, I was imagining something that would be integrated into his suit, right on his wrist. I was thinking like, some like of energy blast, or explosion mechanism, kinda like the green goblins grenades. Only think richies would be good for closer combat, so the explosion down have a far range.
or maybe he would go the whole 'bat-a-rang" think, and shoot really sharp darts or disks from a small area in his wrist. He could prolly fit 10 thin ones in his wrist cavity, and keep extra one in his utility belt. I was thinking they could be super sharp, and coated with a poison that would make the villan it made contact with drowsy, like a tranquilizer.
OH OH, OR HE COULD BE LIKE ROBIN, AND USE ONE OF THOSE UN-FOLDABLE METAL STICKS AND BATTLE WITH IT. but that seems a bit lame
I have also been trying to re-design backpack. I want to make him smaller, and black, and be able to fly, but for some reason, im having issues thinking of a shape for him instead of his typical bulky self.

See, I'm thinking something small that, when the zapcaps don't work and he ends up in the middle of a fight, he can deploy to use as a shield, and if all else fails bash people on the head with. Only, sleeker and more awesome and Gear-ish. I see it covering the backs of his forearms, and having some kind of pressure-sensitive mechanism that would give his opponent a shock, kinda like the mark 1 zapcaps. If not enough to drop them, at least enough to make them move back enough to give him room to throw a trap. Although, I like the idea of some other kind of projectile weapon, but I think blades is a bit too violent/batman for Gear. Maybe some kind of tranq darts, but not flashy like the typical red feathers, more like the darts you'd find in a bar.
Hmm, I dunno how you'd modify backpack, and the closest I could imagine to flying with his usual shape is making him into some kind of small hovercraft.

ohhh that armor idea is a good idea. if his suit has long sleeves, the metal could just cover his forearms, and other areas one usually uses to block with. I like the electrical shock idea too. Im sure the metal would be reinforced, so that he doesnt even have to put much muscle into blocking, its pressure sensitive.
maybe he could use a...lazer?

I think it would be easier if the armor could be deployed when he needs to fight, but aside from then, is stored away somehow. Maybe not on his shins/legs, but on his shoulders and arms. It could throw off his flying if he's got all this extra armor, and their services aren't just fighting bad guys. there was that episode with the runaway balloons at the beginning.
