I couldn't ask for a better catch light in his eye, it almost looks like a flare!Related content

Β I must say that this lovely little bird rather looks as though he's been caught out in the middle of some extremely personal business and is acutely embarrassed - one might almost call it "Wildlife by the Paparazzi" if one has a mischievous sense of humour.Β

That is an impressive shot, it's not easy to make a Chickadee's eyes stand out in it's black-plumaged head.

I was very fortunate, I was in a wooded area and there were only a few branches that were lit up by the sun and he landed on one very close to me!

Well Chickadees are typically friendly birds. If you feed them, he was probably a regular visitor who recognized you!

Actually I was out at Francis Point it is part if the bird Observatory at Beaver hill lake, but yes they do feed them there! Β It is also a great spot for Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers in winter. Β I am very much looking forward to spring to see what else pops up!

Yes, yes, the light here is perfect. The hair on the top of their heads and their eyes are so black as to almost be indistinguishable in most light.Β
