In a failed fantasy novel I attempted, Grant's Tomb came to be referred to, by a post-apocalypse time, as the Giant's Tomb (the R was partly obliterated) and, still later, as the Gant's Tomb. (R now gone) I no longer recall my inspiration but it may well have been Last & First Men by Olaf Stapledon.
A miserable memory ...

Focusing past the post-apocalypse element, I would say that when I used to travel, I would eat at Wendy's or BurgerKing, but not at McDonald's.Β

I really like this. First, some metal and plastic objects will survive an apocalypse for
many years. Secondly, it's great to see a bicycle. Hardly anybody (hey, Walking Dead
writers!) seems to think that bicycles would be a common sight after the gasoline and
electricity stop working. Worldwide, there are enough bicycles for 10% or more of the
current population of Earth. Third, the composition makesΒ us try to see inside the bike
rider's mind. What is his/her thought? Do they remember fast food? Do they wish for
a return of cheeseburgers and fries - or chicken nuggets? Or are they too young to know
what that sign meant? Is their pause a moment of puzzlement? Is it possible that this
solitary figure is thinking the sign was for a church? Thanks for stirring my imagination.

Seems to imply McD is responsible. Not that I'm arguing against that...Β

When I was young the "Golden Arches" were like a heavenly thing, especially after hurricanes. But now they're nothing but a company logo that can be distroy and this picture reminds me of that.

That's very clever, would be better if you put a mint condition Big Mac on the ground by him since we all know McDonald's chemical laden food is indestructible

It's pretty amazing how if the world is in a apocalyptic state, that some of the least expected things would make it through. It's a very good drawing, it made me think for a minute what was going through the biker's head.

its definately an iconic and eye-catching image.
i was just discussing today with my father-in-law, that in years to come, archeologists may be digging up clues to our current era, and wonder who this strange god-like deity "coca-cola" must have been, since they would find evidence of it's presence in almost every habitable landmass on the earth.

Hmmm... call it a hunch, now don't get me wrong... I think you maaaaaaay have a thing with Mcdonalds Business practices XD
But seriously, great work. I've been reading a fantasy book called the 1632 series, where an entire town in Virginia during the year 2000 gets sent back in time to Europe during the 30 years war. The town sets up "Golden Arches" across Europe, which sell crappy oven-cooked food :3
