Love the advice about the graytones!
I'll remember that for my next pic...

Thanks for posting this! I've been trying to break into digital art, and I'm not having the best of luck. But you've broken things down on such a simple manner that I think I'll be able to get the hang of it!.

It's always interesting to see how others work on their art, and I also found this rather helpful (I'm hopeless with coloring by computer, but one can always wish to learn someday). I also tried your tip of turning the brush mode to "Color" - the results were really nice, I wouldn't have thought of that myself! All in all, a helpful tutorial I think.
...which reminds me, I need to work on that watercolor tutorial I'm making. Argh. D: It's difficult to make a tutorial...

thanks
well, digital won me over because of the "undo" function. i used to do watercolors but when i made a mistake it ruined the whole thing and it really pissed me off!

I was so sure that'd happen to me too, but digital turned out to be too advanced for me. XD; Traditional seems easier to understand for me... Even though I sometimes wish you could have an "undo" button in traditional paintings, too!

teehee, thanks
that's PS 8 but since the basics remain the same i'm sure it works with older versions as well. i mean, you can do anything with just the layers and basic brushes.
