Description
Upon reaching the enemy ground columns, the Wurdalak pilot hits "the button" and launches his 15 X 120mm artillery rounds at the enemy troops and tanks.
The instant that the pilot triggers the launching of his load, his cockpit is blown upwards, separated from the main fuselage by explosive bolts, then the three solid-fuel forward fuselage rocket motors propel the pilot and cockpit to a "safe" altitude, where-upon the pilot, ejected by wind-pressure, pulls his ripcord and settles to ground safely, and hopes that the survivors of his attack won't shoot him on the spot.
The 120mm shells, not being guided down a gun barrel, spray out like a shotgun blast, and a direct hit on an enemy armored vehicle is usually rare, but troops and unarmored trucks suffer from the ground hits.
