Now that shading eye is the shit I really wish to see it used in Vol 4.
Ever since Hokuto No Ken and Jojo part one to three, that aspect has got to be my favorite one.

This Ruby Rose looks great. However, is Ruby missing an eye and has an eyepatch or is that supposed to be shading covering her eye? Believe it or not, it has somewhat become somewhat popular to draw an older Ruby wearing an eyepatch.

its a shading covering her eye of course. if i had drawn her an eyepatch, the string from the patch would be visible or i would at least used like a cloth covering her eye from an arrow wound.
oh really? that's interesting. maybe because like yang lost her arm, people think ruby's gonna lose an eye or something. i dunno... just a thought. but cool to know though, thanks!

Ironically, idea of Ruby wearing an eyepatch started about two years ago long before Volume Three by fans who like the White Rose (Weiss/Rudy) pairing and created their 'Calamity of Tomorrow' story. It has inspired a few other artists to depict Ruby and Weiss' older counterparts in the same manner. This was all before Yang lost her arm, but now that Yang has lost an arm, it has caused speculation that Ruby might lose her eye in canon as well. It is rumored that prior to his death Monty Oum did pay close attention to fans. For all we know it could have inspired him to incorporate certain fandom ideas. However, we'll never know.

its always good to know that a creator of his/her series paid attention and listen to his/her fans, and i believe monty did that. i knew RWBY this year, and i felt depressed knowing that monty passed around a year ago, soon to be two years right? anyways, i have my condolences to the other RWBY fans.
we'll just have to see what the next volume of RWBY will have for us to see. the possibility are endless, so we might get to see if ruby will lose her eye or not. i have a feeling she might tho, even though i don't actually want it to happen, it'll eventually happen. fuck...
