Description Something different for a change. This is concept art to a certain game project. A post nuclear war scene.. a wrecked city somewhere in the Eastern Europe. After I'd finished the pic, I realized that... I'd sub-consciously ripped those large pipes from 's web comic ICE. Can't have a wintery post-nuclear war town without large pipes... -_-

Stay where you are! Don't touch the pic! You wouldn't want to go there.

Nice atmosphere, and the oil pastel texture looks cool too. The barrels in the corner and the vertical tangent with the light pole and one of the big pipes disturb the feeling of depth a little. I'd like to see more of the scene, the composition it feels a bit crammed as it is ... I'm also a bit curious as to what cool buildings and other stuff you could come up with.

The camera angle isn't very imaginative, I know. Creating architecture is a pain in the ass.. X_X

IΒ΄m impressed. This is definitely different from your usual pictures, but you canΒ΄t notice it from this one. It is as if you had been drawing something like this forever. Really, really good...

The most unusual thing about this pic must be the tool I used.. the oli pastels in Painter 9. I've never used that one before. Thanks for the

ThatΒ΄s what I always use, pastels are best Is Painter 9 significantly better than Painter 8?

There are some minor improvements on Painter 9... the best one is that when you use water colour, the canvas stays wet even when you save the pic, exit the program, relaunch the program and open the image again.

ThatΒ΄s good news. I love watercolors, but I never use them because of that problem. Thanks

You captured the feel here nicely, I can feel the cold and the snow looks so powdery

Aw, no, it's way better than anything I could do. I'm always so in awe of your BGs. I wish I could've actually made Ice look like this. ^^

If you did this detailed BGs to a comic, it'd be way too slow. At least for the kind of stories that you and I make.. manga -style fast paced storytelling which takes huge amounts of pages... whereas the French comics are usually much shorter (40-50 pages, as you know I'm sure) and have colourful and detailed BGs. But.. telling a story in only 50 pages is not how I wanna do it.

Anyway, I used to draw sceneries and backgrounds long before I seriously dared to attempt proper human anatomy.

It does really have that "Ice" feeling to it. But more because of the feeling of a desolate urban area more than the pipes.

wow, beautifully done. I love how there's both a horse and cars in the scene.

Thanks. Yeah, the horse and the car are supposed to give a feeling of the civilization descending back towards the pre-industrial period.
