I made it 2 months ago for the Sunshine Bookmark Competition. The task was to present customs and rituals associated with the celebration of spring in my country.

1. So you can see swallows - the main sign of spring. The first person to see them is going to be lucky this year.
2. The nasty looking creature deep under water is called Marzanna - Miss Winter. It's made of sticks, hay and scraps of materials. Children drown her in lake or river on the first spring day so she wouldn't disturb Miss Spring in waking up the nature.
3. And the last element - kids. The first day of spring is called Truancy Day, because everyone can play truant from school and don't get punished. Or, more often, the lessons don't take place at all.

Unfortunatelly my age category (20-24 years) was canceled.
