I call them (very easy to imitate their cry) until 2 or 3 come nearby. And I bring seeds with me. I may wait for 15 to 20 minutes, sometimes a little more.

I never heard of it! But I know that chickadees are very friendly. Sometimes in winter when I go for a cross country skiing ride, one or two are following me tree by tree. They are amazing!
