Watercolour on paper (2006)approx. 4.5" x 4.5"
Some of my mother's students are heading a fundraiser for our local animal shelter, so I've offered to make up some nice printed cards to sell as they like. Mom suggested something appropriate for the upcoming mother's day. This is the second design, a rabbit mother and her kittens. This is a bad scan...it made the colours much brighter than they are, but it's ok for now. It ended up being flipped when I transfered it onto watercolour paper. It doesn't make much of a deifference, but I might flip it back again when I use it for the cards... I'll have to think some more.

haha i tried working at the spca but they were mean and told me to get los. O_O so i joined a conservation group and helping with critically endangered birds.

Yeah I've never had much luck even trying to offer help to my local SPCA.... They've had ads saying the need help urgently, but won't allow applications for volunteer workers... *sigh* and they don't offer much help besides finding homes for the (CUTE) animals. We have a no-kill policy where I live but I've still heard otherwise... :S I love the work that the SPCA does nation-wide, but my local one hasn't impressed me at all. Private rescues groups are really starting to make a difference for some of the more specialty types of animals, like rabbits, cavies, and rats, which don't always get the proper attention they need at large, multi-species shelters.... just my opinion from what I've been seeing.

yeah that's the same over here in my area, i would like to eventually be able to have my own shelter and look after ...well..everything haha.

for small animals it seems to be the way to go. The only thing stopping me from a rat rescue right now is my mom. I can't blame her though, she's afraid of them, and 3 has been a bit of a push

Thank you! yeah.. I'd love to do storybook illustrations, but I've heard nasty cut-throat things about that industry.... I'll just stick to random cuteness!
