Description

This was done for the DAZaholic s wekly challenge, "The Fool".

About 5 years a go I designed a set of the Major Arcana based on the Rider-Waite traditional tarot (on my Rendo gallery if you're interested); I kicked it up a gear for this but tried to maintain all the traditional symbolism. So we still have the youthful figure on the cliff edge in the mountains (challenges and opportunities) with yellow boots and a red feather in the hair, holding a white rose (duality of life, innocence and faith) and carrying a knapsack (the basic needs in life, things we value as well as burdens). The sun shines on their path (illumination, hope, joy and growth) and a dog bounds along (loyalty, companionship, the faithful guide). Breaking with tradition, I've also incorporated a harlequin motif in the clothing as a nod to the fact that the the fool is also the joker of the standard playing deck.
