A gift forShe gave me some really wonderful advice when she critiqued my picture ( ), and really gave me a boost in my confidence as an artist, so I wanted to say thank you. :3
She originally had angel wings, but they sort of cluttered the picture, so I took them out.
I tried some new stuff with the shading and have mixed feeling about it. I like it, but at the same time I don't. XD

This picture is so beautiful! I love the lights! You drew Celeste so amazingly!! Her face is gorgeous, and she looks really happy! The yellow lights around her are really pretty, too!!

About the picture, I was really impressed when I saw it! I really love the texture in the sash and the lovely blush on her cheeks! The way her eyes are closed, peaceful and serene with the faintest of of shine is beautiful!! You really captured her, especially the pose! The way her hands are clasped at her rib cage is lovely! It looks like she's singing!
Again, thank you so much for this, you did a really fantastic job! My only really critique (because you asked for it) is that she has no ankles, but in the sonic style a lot of people vary on how to do the feet and legs, so it's pretty easily overlooked. Also, the arms are a touch long. A good rule of thumb to keep track is referencing your own body. My elbows reach just above my waist but are under my rib cage. They don't make it so low as the hips. Again, I don't find it very detracting because in Sonic style there's a lot of room for interpretation
All in all, I was extremely impressed that you did this piece! It looks like it's a step up from some others I've seen! Whatever you did differently, it shows and it looks great! There movement, emotion, and talent at work! I submitted this to the Celeste club for the featured folder <3 I hope you don't mind!

Well, it really meant a lot to me that you took the time to critique it. Andyou were so nice while doing it, and actually explained what I could do to fix the picture (Which a LOT of people don't do when they critique my pictures. XD)
I'm glad you like it! I've never tried this sort of pose before, so I had some trouble with it (Mostly keeping her arms in proportion), and her left hand I'm still not happy with, but I like the picture overall. :3
Ah, yes, the ankles. I noticed that when I was half finished shading. X'D
I normally do ankles of some sort, but I think the fact I've never drawn paw-like feet like Celeste's kind of threw me off on that bit.

It's fine, Celestes design follows different rules than most fancharacters and some people do find her more difficult ^^ You pulled her off beautifully though!!
And again, I'm thrilled you liked my critique so much! The way you applied it really brought a new life and dimension to the picture and I really found myself loving it!!

Yeah, it was a little hard - but it was so much fun and a great challenge. Elegant characters I find are the most fun to draw.
