Description
I just...I just felt like I had to do something. If I was there, I'd have killed the monster myself. But I wasn't. I just had to sit there and hear about it.
Those children were murdered and I couldn't do a damned thing.
....They are with God in paradise now. I guess that's the only solace we can take at this point...
...I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say.
....Hold your loved ones.

Fire arms training is an easy cure for that theory.
Also, I grew up in a home full of drug addicts and sex criminals. I can tell you with a great deal of certainty that handing a gun to a teacher is an enormous difference from handing one to a drug addict. I would expect any rational person to agree.

I think I may have misspoke. My apologies. And yes, gun training will help. I am perfectly fine with firearms possession, I mean I possess an assortment of blades and such in case of self defense. My only request is that the people with weapons be trained and mentally stable.
However, the final solution is a gun that turns guns into ducks.
... I like ducks

I just pictured that old Afghan T-37 tank I hit with an anti tank rocket in 2003, and instead of bowing it into bits, it turned it into a bunch of ducks.
You just made me laugh so hard my wife got nervous. Thank you so much.

The bilbe never said god controls what humans do or is always chooses to stop them, quite to contrary really, you need only look at Adam and Eve. He told them to not eat the fruit. He didn't force them to not eat it. He didn't try to stop them.
That god is still way less powerful than they make him out to be, there's no real proof of his power. People back then were incredibly superstitious.

God withholding the power to force our hands is not weakness.
Rather it takes an immense degree of power over one's self to yield control to another.

Free will. It's the ultimate test of character.

god also didn't smite his ass before he pulled the trigger. apparenlty he smote everyone in town 2000 years ago and broke the laws of physics back when people believed in magic. god either doesn't exist or sits on his bitch ass and watch the human race destroy itself. the bible says that god cares for the human race but history AND the modern news proves he does not if he even existed. and this goes for every religion.

I'd hate to impose on your religion, but isn't your god supposed to be benevolent, omnipotent and all powerful?
He just lets these things happen? He just chooses not to intervene? Why? He could have prevent it, he didn't.
He could have tried to convince Adam and Eve to not eat the apple and reveal who the serpent was, yet he didn't.
He just lets the world, his creation go to hell, metaphorically.

You're not imposing, you're questioning. And that's one of the healthiest things for a person to do. It proves that they're thinking.
God gives us the ability to make our own decisions. Intervening in any "omnipotent" way would take away a fundamental choice. Weather or not he exists.
No, this didn't happen because God is weak. It happened because some loser decided to kill a lot of innocent people. Blaming God for it is just a scape goat. With the freedom of choice comes the burden of responsibility.

We can make our own decisions, and god should be able to protect the victims of those who make poor ones.
He should also try to influence positive decisions. It's not a challenge of free will, it's guiding humanity in the right direction.
I honestly still believe that your god is the result of superstition. I wouldn't even say it was aliens in spite of the fact evidence exists to support that or at least it explains things, as much as it was people looking for answers where there weren't any, misinterpreting things, and maybe even over-thinking things.

All the guidance one needs to direct ones self in a good and healthy direction has already been provided in copious amounts and made eminently available.
Some people are just broken and make evil choices.
I understand the need some people have, to blame God or society or what have you. But it's just an emotional reaction to a horrible crime like this one. Rather than cursing God, I feel the appropriate reaction is to remind ourselves how precious our loved ones are, and remember that for the most part, our country is a good and loving land. Though sometimes, horrible things happen, the good things always out number them one hundered fold.

What are you talking about?
I'm not cursing god. I'm asking why he doesn't do anything. I'm just trying to understand that. Why would I blame something I don't even think exists? I don't blame his lack of intervention, I question why he doesn't.
As much as I would like to believe there is a greater power and life after death, there's just not enough evidence to support it, and there's evidence against the bible's words.
There's more than one way to interpret the bible isn't there? The bible is second-hand storytelling, who says it hasn't been edited or changed? As I've said before, people back then were superstitious.
There were a lot more faiths in the past, but as the Sumerians, Mayans, Egyptians, Romans. Greeks, and so forth fell they all died out and now the jewish/christian, buddist, and muslim regions are pretty much the only major ones still standing. Why? Christianity came out of Rome too, but Rome fell. The Shinto belief system died out, yet Japan is still standing. Many myths existed in the UK, like Scotland and Ireland but no one believes any of them anymore.
Every belief system contradicts each other yet they all think it's the truth. If there was one solid truth, why is there division?

There is a great deal of scientific evidence leading towards an outside had guiding our universe. A fine documentary on the subject was done by the discovery institute of America.
It's really eye opening, it's called the privileged planet.
Give it a watch, you might learn something awesome.

Ok I gave it a bit of a watch and got bored of waiting for actual proof that there's a "guiding hand" out there, all I heard is "a planet like earth is rare".
Probability isn't solid evidence at all.
Just as miracles are just caused by probability. Joining a region or having faith in ANYTHING won't increase those odds. That's one of the major problems I have with regions.
Faith does not increase random chance. Random chance is random. Period.
When I pray it's either as a formality or out of desperation.
On a related note: I've heard plenty of stories about people "finding faith" out of desperation.

I'd say finishing something half way isn't finishing something.
As with most other substantive documentaries, the majority of the conclusive content is nearer to the conclusion.
If you don't have the patience for an hour long lesson in physics,(Perfectly understandable) try googling "Creatures that defy evolution." I's really fascinating.
Do a little research and you'll find that the scientific evidence of an intelligent designer is actually quite staggering.
All you need as an open mind and the willingness to learn.

If I haven't heard of it, how could I be too afraid of being wrong to see it?
You haven't specifically told me any source of this actual evidence of yours. Excuse me if I seem skeptical.
I googled it and found this: [link] and none of that is solid evidence, mostly just debunking evolution and weak evidence that still doesn't prove their point of view.
The same goes for this: [link]
There's no actual evidence specifically supporting the existence of a greater power that I can find. Is this what you meant? Because if so, my skepticism was valid to begin with and I already told you it's not valid evidence.
I guess there technically isn't a third option but one in-between both: Evolution didn't happen the way we thought, and the things in the bible just happened, and that there is no real expatiation behind it.
I've said it before, people who are stuck on their religious beliefs are looking for answers where none exist.
I think that as we advance quantum physics, maybe we will find one. But I doubt either of us will live long enough to find the truth.
There have been plenty of once-in-a-lifetime events in our lives. I don't think actually proving whether or not there is a god will be one of them.

I just don't get it. What would make someone do something like that?
Did he just want to kill people? There are more efficient ways, more crowded locations.
Was some strange vengeance the reason? I doubt most of the victims, particularly the elementary school kids did anything to him.
Perhaps he was simply insane, but what kind of madness would drive someone to kill small children?
If it was planned before hand, to what end?
If it wasn't, why now?
What is this world coming to?

It is as it's always been.
There are monsters.
The more decent people that are armed themselves, the less likely the monsters will be able to perpetrate nightmare crimes like this one.
Can you imagine what it would have been like if one or more of the teachers at that school had been strapped?

The man's legacy will be short-lived and despised; he'll be hated until he's forgotten forever. He died a coward, and accomplished nothing beyond cementing himself into the cast of a monster.
He's punished here with a hated name, and he'll be punished tenfold wherever his final destination is. Don't seek further vengeance.
Let him rot in hell.
