I've been a Madlib fan since I moved to LA 5 years ago... and have been a Jay Dee fan since I first heard "Runnin" by the Pharcyde. I listen to this radio show out here in LA called "Friday Night Flavas" now called "The Fantastic Four Show" with J-Rocc from the Beat Junkies & Mr. Choc. When I first heard that Jaylib was gonna happen, I really couldn't believe it. My two favourite producers getting together for an album... and I couldn't be happier with Champion Sound. It's one I bump constantly, even though it's been out for well over a year now. I really like the Madvilliany album instrumentally, but there's something about MF's flow that I don't really like. Have you heard of The Platinum Pied Pipers? They've dropped a few real dope songs recently. Their album is going to be dropping in like 2 weeks. I forget if your email address is on your frontpage here on DA. I'm gonna go check right now. I'll send you a few CHOICE tracks.

okay. I've made it through the wire Gawd i'm diggin this. you make working from photo ref so much fun and yet though with a tool such as illustrator this still looks unique enough. I think filtering what you see into your work is extra important as it makes for ya know...kickin' a personal vibe to somethng no one can ever replicate. Yeah, extra props to this dude for having the weirdest alter-ego. This piece was fun. I get a lot of questions about whether or not I posterize the photo references I use, and I think that looks cheesy. You can always tell when people do that. But yeah, I like to pay vectorial tributes to people I dig. And I wanted to play with composition more in this one.
