Description 'Once upon a time' is inspired by antique books and old forgotten tales. When creating this artwork I had to think how I was when I was a child. I loved it how my brother and one of my sisters read the tales from Hans Christian Andersen for me. Or the tales from the brothers Grimm.

I'm glad with the stockpicture from the woman. Her face is so expressive and powerfull, same goes for her eyes. All the faces in this artwork are created from the same stockpicture. In some of my other works you'll find this 'repeating' effect also. Her make-up and hat are brushes. Same goes for the decoration on the book. As always I used a texture to increase the contrast and colors.

Nice pick of the stock picture, first of all. She looks like she stepped off the antique painting. Proportions, lines, make-up style transfer her back in time. It's amazing how the light changes the expressions of the same face on the top and on the bottom, changing from sadness to hope.
It looks like the circle of life if you read it from the top to the bottm: our birth, driven with divine power, when we look like a blank and pale piece of paper, our bright and emotional life that gives us colors and our death when we loose all of our colors just to be reborn and repeat it all again.
My old fairytales obsession had returned recently, too. I found a few of my old books to look through them and be inspired, so your artwork is the real gift to me. Great one, my friend.

You did it again Thanks for such a detail feedback. You ALWAYS know how to put in words what I didn't wrote myself You are right about the use of light. I always do a 'trick' with different lightangels. Because digital art is 2-D, I try to give it an effect that you could look behin the artwork. Thanks again for your words, they mean a lot and I really appreciate them

It's most impressive how each face looks so different from eachother. I really like what you've done with the book as well, do beautiful and old looking. If such a book existed, it would be a treasure
