Actually, forget I said that. Almost every brony I know uses the term Alicorn, but on looking it up, apparently Alicorn is just the substance that unicorn horns are made of. I don't know how it got reappropriated as the name for winged unicorns.

There isa lot of disagreement about it because there is no real name for it. In mythology there is no "real" cross between a unicorn and winged horse, it gets a little vague and there are multiple beasts that are similar but not the same. Alicorn/Pegacorn is simply a name that has built up in the fantasy fiction world and slowly become accepted names when refering to a horse with a horn and wings.

Basically Alicorn and Pegacorn are both the same and acceptable, as there is no official name for it anyway.
