Description After watching WAY too much Trigun I designed badass
duster jackets and ticket rifles for my heroic meter maids.

I
don't know if it works to have them look so cool though. There's a
little more humor in having them fight road raging hordes in short
shorts.

This really gives them a wild west feel, which in think helps the mood of the whole project. It's pretty telling that the world of parking garage law enforcement is a dangerous and untamed frontier. I mean, they're even wearing chaps. :3

For some reason, AJ's coworker there reminds me of Egon from Ghostbusters, with the light hair and the glasses.

I was thinking more Vash. But Egon works too.

HAH! when I saw the thumb before clicking on it I thought "Man that looks like something out of Trigun"
at least I'm not totally losing my mind ^^
Vash is my hero

Hmm that reminds me.

Have you noticed all the good westerns are coming from anywhere but the US? Cartoon Westerns are done by the Japanese (Case in point, the aforementioned Trigun), Western comic books are done by the Europeans. Even Modern Western movies like 3:10 to Yuma star English and Australian actors. I really find that odd.

Well the was that excellent sci-fi western Firefly, but they were in all kinds of a hurry to cancel that.

yah, and created by Whedon no less. Considering the rest of his work I found it a little odd.

And that's very true! i could mention Brokeback Mountain, but we're talking about *good* westerns so ignore that ^^

I miss Trigun...I hope they don't muck up the movie too badly

They're making a movie? Please tell me its an animated movie and not some horrifying Hollywood cash in. (I still wake up screaming at the thought of DiCaprio's Akira.)

OMG you aren't kidding!! Why Akira, WHY???

JohnStaton In reply to bandeau [2008-12-12 21:46:07 +0000 UTC]

Because they like the sound we make when we scream.

I dunno, there's just a lot of silence on my end.
they like the horrified expression I gave the computer. DBZ...Akira...when will it end...

Well then they probably just like yo watch you squirm. (If you bear any resemblance to your avatar, I wouldn't mind seeing that myself. But I digress.)

Sadly, it will only end when they stop making money. Ironically, that'll be about the time they start actually making good movies.

Hah, you weren't kidding when you said you loved Vash.

Curious thing, I was flirting with the idea of making AJ's partner female. (Since I'm not yet published, I can change the cannon at will. I know it doesn't necessarily mean I should, but I can. ) Anyway, these pictures are a strong argument in favor of a female Drew.

o.o You realize if you were to do that I'd be a brat and go around saying "She was inspired by MOI!" like the devil I am.

And yah, I adore Vash. I had a photoshoot in San Diego with this costume and wanted to make it as realistic as possible, so I went through the pain of supergluing his metal stitches so I wouldn't have any "accidents" [link]

So no wardrobe malfunction. Boy, you really went all out for this costume. I was already impressed by the jacket.

I didn't want to half-ass it. Cosplaying makes you look like a freak to begin with, I might as well be a god among the freaks^^

...That wasn't meant to sound snotty though it kind of did. The buttons on the jacket were a bitch.

I dunno. "A god among freaks" sound pretty fun.

And instead of half-assing it, you're half-chesting it. (Pun -1,000 HP)

Okay, I'll stop.

.....Please tell me the DiCraprio Akira is a joke.

Yah it's been in the works since he announced it in 2006. Madhouse is making it, animated, and all the people working on it are well known. Google Trigun Movie and the first post has most of the info. I'm excited ^^

I'm glad to hear that the Trigun is animated.

I wish I was joking about the Akira thing though. [link] I just hope it gets lost in "development hell."

JohnStaton In reply to zarsh009 [2008-12-12 20:42:16 +0000 UTC]

I'll take your word for it.

Whenever I see women standing on those windswept subway platforms in the dead of winter with skirts on, long or short, (Especially short. Brrrr!) I am overwhelmed with sympathy.

I likes me some gams, but I can wait 'til the spring.

haha, japanese wear their long skirts during these season, and some with bolder look, skirts with long spats(i think)im not sure myself. Im still envy my sister and brother because they got to visit the land of the rising sun.

SuichiTanaka In reply to zarsh009 [2008-12-12 22:51:59 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but a common practice is to also wear their gym pants under their skirts; only tucked up so you can't see them so they can still meet the dress code. They don't do that because the weather is warm, my friend. :3
