Uh, yeah, I sorta envisioned him fleeing toward the hot dog stand. CHARGE THE RELISH! and all that. And you're right of course...surreality will wear out and I shall have to buckle down. Eventually...

And it's not that surrealism'll wear out, it just won't work for everything. Like if you were illustrating a Star Wars novel.

Understanding your references always research. But yes, backgrounds. And dinosaurs. Energy weapons can come later.
