Description What if humans could use Ki like in Dragon Ball?

Let's have an overview of what is Ki and what you will obtain from it:

Ki (It can also be called ChiQi or Yōki) is also known as "latent energy" or "fighting power," which directly translates as "life force." This force is a tangible energy inside every living being, with its major focus being in the center of the body. By drawing it out, an individual is able to manipulate it and use it outside the body. Ki can be used for many different techniques. Because there are physical limits to the strength of the body itself, it is necessary to increase one's ki to overcome this barrier and become stronger. Usually, the more concentrated the masses are, the more time the user requires to draw it out by powering up. When fighters gather ki, they are able to gain enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and can increase the power of their attacks to inflict greater damage to opponents. Normally, the more the ki is increased, the harder it is to control, so ki control is also important. Energy can be lost when the user sustains injuries.

According to Akira Toriyama, ki is made up of three parts:
1) Genki (元気 lit. "Vigor")
2) Yūki (勇気 lit. "Courage")
3) Shōki (正気 lit. "Mind")

The amount of ki varies depending on the individual. Usually non-trained beings have very little ki. Training can increase the amount of ki greatly. The amount of ki is generally related to the Power Level, the greater the amount of ki, the greater the power level of the user. If the ki is great enough it can affect the surrounding, like generating powerful gusts of wind, shaking the ground (even the planet) or even destroying it. In order for someone to be able to take attacks from a foe without taking any damage, they must possess twice the power of their foe.

Ki Attacks/Control/Sense/Defense/Flight
Ki can be used to enhance the combat abilities of the user. Usually to increase their strength. Advanced Ki users can also emit plasma from their bodies in the form of beams, spheres or explosions. By gaining perfect control over their ki and thus stopping any of it from leaking out of their body, a fighter is shown to be able to become exponentially more powerful. A user with enough Ki control eventually learns how to sense it, being able to sense the location, amount and type, the stronger and closer the enemy, the more powerful the sensation. Also, if a ki is very powerful, it can be sensed from afar by people who are trained to sense energy. With enough training the user can also hide their Ki so others cannot sense it. Ki, once mastered at a basic level, carries more than just offensive and tactical power. While the durability of ones flesh and bones carry an obvious limit, the extent of a fighters ki does not carry these limits. As a result, fighters can increase their endurance by raising their guard to deflect ki attacks, although this obviously does drain energy. Lowering ones guard can result in much higher damage taken from attacks, even comparatively weak attacks such as scrapes, cuts and bullets. Raising ones guard can be used to block attacks even more powerful than the user, although this can be extremely dangerous and often fatal. With enough training, a Ki user can manipulate its ki energy to perform the technique known as Bukūjutsu (Literally translated as Sky Dance Technique), with which they can levitate or fly.

Every martial artist capable of flight, higher levels of durability/strength/speed would have to be registered, just like real martial artists who achieve a certain rank as well as air traffic.

Unless China was able to overcome Tibet with their Shaolin Monks, the superhumans would send them reeling back. In another 20-30 years, China would have pumped many resources into finding and recruiting citizens with large ki potential/training to enlist as soldiers in their wars. Tibet could be conquered afterwards. Japan would have responded by training their own warriors in ki control, and China's empire would be much larger. The countries that survived this would train their own warriors, and assuming other cultures stumbled onto this force by accident, Nordic beserkers and druids could utilise ki in different ways.

Overall today the world's borders would be different, but unless someone reached DBZ continent/planet busting levels we'd be okay. Gyms/Martial arts schools would be more heavily regulated, and most people could be capable of weak ki manipulation. Martial arts tournaments would be bigger than the olympics, which would have been redundant until cameras could catch up to the ki-users speed.

A lot of people just wouldn't train, like with martial arts today, but there would be entire army divisions dedicated to using/countering ki-users. More flight accidents and less cars for people on the go.

Wow, that was incredibly detailed. Awesome job.

I also see people that don't train, at least training how to fly, because how wouldn't want to fly.

I think a situation would happen, a story worthy situation. Of course it would start with that believed in these things, such as Buddhists and Taoists. perhaps radical Tibetan monks would use it to gain independence from China

That's a very likely scenario.
