Nya, I know, right?Β I have never understood it. Trump's voters seem to truly believe that Trump is one of them. You know, a poor person who has come to politics and will defend their rights and interests because they are also his own. Trump against the evil financial system of the rich people. WTF!

Human stupidity is often the offspring of human desperation and human patriotism. Life is never as clear as black and white, and more often than not as the cause, and solution to resolving them lies in the murky grey waters in between.

Don't see why not. They are central America, but that isn't exactly a continent on it's own. And north or south, it is still the American landmass.

Nya,Β America is a continent that contains three divisions, North America, the top part, which are Canada, the United States and Mexico, Central America, that small and thin part in which Guatemala, Honduras and Panama, among other countries are, and South America, the bottom part, where Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru and others are. Yes, Mexico is in America, specifically North America, in the same division as you.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

ranwolf1976 In reply to limaneko [2019-02-17 03:42:20 +0000 UTC]

NORTH America is a continent. America is a country, aka The US, aka The United States, aka The only country in the world with "America" in it's official nameΒ

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

limaneko In reply to ranwolf1976 [2019-02-17 09:29:03 +0000 UTC]

America was the name given by CristΓ³bal ColΓ³n to the continent he had arrived at, in honor of Americo Vespuccio and where he landed it wasn't New York, but in the Bahamas. So yes, absolutely all the territory is called America and when in the rest of the world we say "America" we are not referring to the United States, but to the continent, however much it bothers you. It's amazing that I know better the geography and the history of your country and continent than you.

You don't have to give me any points. History is the way it is. You can not rewrite it to your liking. If you and your colleague above don't like the way things are, it's your problem, not mine. Clearly, you don't give a shit about reality, so I will not waste any more time trying to get into the basics of geography and history. United States citizens are the only ones who, clearly swollen by ego, refer to themselves as real Americans by making a distinction with your neighbors. Don't bother answering me because I've lost the urge to read you. This is like talking to a brick wall. I guess every time you don't like something, you build one.

ranwolf1976 In reply to limaneko [2019-02-17 17:17:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm not the one ignoring the facts of the topic, history doesn't support your position for the simple fact The US is the only country with "America" in it's name. Canada, The US and Mexico are in NORTH America. If you want to take your ball and go home, that's on you, but it just shows, in this case, you don't have reality on your side and you can't accept it.

In march 2017 a guy I knew tried to run over his pregnant girlfriend with his car in North Carolina. He's the only trump supporter I know who was shameless enough to wear a maga hat in public. He's in prison now for attempted murder and he was still fanatical in his devotion to trump all the while he was awaiting sentencing. The only national emergency we have is too many trump supporters still breathing.

I personally find Trump one of the most loathsome objects to inhabit the Oval Office. But I try to take a more nuanced approach, the issues that put him in the White House are real issues. I was born in 1943 and in the last 50yrs I haven't seen ANY president who I respected much, But, this last election between the Vampire Queen and a inept, "very stable genus" was truly scary.Β

Because every American deserves the right to vote and should not have it stolen from them after they finish their prison sentence.

ThefirstEpidot In reply to ipaprime [2019-02-17 16:07:57 +0000 UTC]

Because once they have served their sentence, they are no longer felons and thus are free citizen. Depriving them of their constitutional rights, isn't very a very American thing to do.

At least, it used to be the American way. To be kind to your fellow man.Β

Actually, quick question since as I said, I haven't really looked into it yet.

Are they talking about having people voting while in prison or is this after they've done their time and been released?
