Honestly I am not too sure.  It would be amazing though if all you had to do was glance at the icon in the dock to see that status of the song or whatnot.  Also if you made an App Store icon even remotely similar to this, it would be amazing!  I could see that downloading state working for that as well.

I wanted to make it more than a standard image and be a little, even if very little functionality. When I was having a few ideas it was the only one that would serve any real purpose. I created the App Store icon here jonnyburgon.deviantart.com/art… thanks!
