Description
Another major antagonist for my PotFW series, The Steel Phantom. The Steel Phantom was once a great pirate monkey who lived in the island of Simia (Primonk's homeland) until one day he was captured when the Pride came along to counquer the island and he was thrown into the Automatizer. Thus being turned into a 'Roboteer', people who get turned into robots devoid of freewill by the automatizer and forced to serve the Pride's military as deadly weapons. The Steel Phantom just so happens to be one of the most skilled and deadly roboteers that the Pride has at their disposal, being a very notorious and feared pirate hunter. Gaining a sort of reputation as 'The Grim Reaper for Pirate', which promted the Pride to start dressing him up as the Grim Reaper. Even the Pride soldiers he tends to work with find the Phantom rather creepy. He has a cold, silent and robotic demeaner, never talking unless if necessary and will stop at nothing to take down his targets.Primonk and the Steel Phantom will have a sort of rivalry in the story with the Phantom frequently trying to capture Primonk. Since he and Primonk are both monkeys from Simia could they possibly have had some history together? Don't want to spoil anything before I actually start the comic, but just to get it out of the way, the Steel Phantom is NOT Primonk's father, and because of the Sonic Satam influence I'll clarify that he's not his uncle either. Granted the reveal will be kind of obvious when you read the story but it's the principle of the matter really.
His design was influenced by the likes of Metal Sonic, the Terminator, and the Phantasm (from Batman: Mask of the Phantasm). The blade on his right hand is a retractable one inspired by Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. The front of his body was inspired by an old furnace to give him a little bit of steampunk feel. Plus I have this idea where when people get automatized the only part of their body to not become mechanical, so instead the soul is used as a sort of battery source for the robot bodies. Their bodies could opened up in a matter similar to a furace door to reveal the soul itself. The Pride has build in supression programs around the soul, to keep the robots' freewill from returning.
