Good ideas. Also, Brian is an atheist; maybe Anabelle is dating him just to show him 'he' might be the only dog to miss Heaven.

not sure about that. remember, Anabelle said that all dogs are inherently good so they go to Heaven by default.

Yeah, but Brian is too 'human' for his own good.

but remember Charlie was a con man and went to Heaven anyway. and Brian never really did anything immoral.

Brian became a drug addict, and he mates with human girls.

I don't think he's addicted to anything in teams of no self-control. and since Brian's more human then dog, I don't see anything wrong with him dating a human. and in my mind, atheism and experimenting don't warrant not going to Heaven.

Let's hope Anabelle agrees.

I don't believe he's strictly an atheist. He's more of a self-loathing reluctant. He believes that there is something in control of everything, but he can't stand that he believes that, since it runs against his carefully crafted textbook liberal progressive persona. Basically, If George W Bush ever did anything, Brian would instantly do the opposite. Thus, he labels himself an atheist, and tries to convince everyone, including himself, that he is one.

also, from my point of view, Brian sincerely wants a meaningful relationship but his animal instincts won't let him. this is based on Brian's own dialog.

I dunno, I think dogs are just as capable of forming loving bonds with other animals just as they can with their owners. It's not all the S-word for dogs.

I didn't say it's all about sex for dogs, I meant it's just harder for Brian to get passed physical love.

you have some good points but I think your selling Brian short by saying he can't have a moment like this. Brian's tried to make an emotional connection with women at least three times. and Anabelle said that all dogs are inherently good, meaning she could see passed Brian's faults. granted, she's looking passed a lot of stuff but it's worth pointing out.

He's tried to, and they all ended extremely quick. He gets frustrated when in the process of forming a complex emotional bond with someone, and always finds himself back with Jillian, the simple-minded floozie with the big hooters. When it comes to women, I think Brian has much the same view as Quagmire, except he's too self-absorbed to admit that he's a sex fiend, pure and simple.

Krypto451 In reply to turbolover175 [2010-06-22 16:37:55 +0000 UTC]
I agree with you partly. but I think Brian really wants a complex relationship. remember the atheist women, it was more Stewie and Cleavland's fault that Brian lost her.

turbolover175 In reply to Krypto451 [2010-06-23 09:06:58 +0000 UTC]
It was more the atheist woman's idea of Free Love that broke that one up. With no all-powerful being watching us for our sins, there was no reason for her to remain abstinent, and therefore, she felt the need to get it on with anyone and everyone. Brian couldn't handle the jealousy, and broke up with her super-quick.

turbolover175 In reply to Krypto451 [2010-06-24 00:16:39 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, in that case, he wasn't at fault. But they did meet in the first place because they were looking for some atheism book, so they met because of the same ideals that led to the break-up.

Some hope, as long as he learns the meaning of the word "compromise". Nobody is exactly the same as their partner when they first meet, and he has to be willing to rethink some portions of his life to accommodate her, as long as she is willing to do the same.

It's possible Brian can find true love as, sometimes he owns up to his faults and tries to fix them.

In the original 3 seasons, wasn't he against this thing because it is cliche and is expected for dog-couples from the man? Once again, the devolving of the newer seasons lessen all of the show's character's likability.
And also, Doggy, Khan's barely noticeable from King of the Hill? Where you naming dogs from the top of your head?
