Ha, was about to ask if this was inspired by him. Looks very much like one of his works. Looks very good, by the way!

Damn, i actually thought it was one of his pictures until i saw your name and icon.
The only thing that stands out is the face, he has very unique style when it comes to that. :3
But it's realy awsome, good job! :3

Thanks Luffsas. Yea I have my own approach when it comes to faces. I think I'll just add his approach to black and white, with minimal tone to what I do already. Should be fun to see how these sketches progress.

Quite striking! Nice work with the simple yet descriptive lines. To me it's sort of a mix between Metal Gear Solid art and Yoshitaka Amano's art style. The textures have a nice speed paint quality to them. The legs could be a little more clear though, it's kind of hard to tell where the knees are. Pretty sweet work though.

How long did it take to finish, if I may ask?

Thanks Cat! I do love MGS, I'll have to take a closer look at some of Amano's art. I agree with the legs and knees.

I spent about 25 minutes on this. What is nice about a time limit is trying to fix mistakes in the next speed paint. Like defining the legs a bit more.

25 minutes is pretty good. That's a good mentality to have, I tend to get caught up in trying to go back and fix everything. Quick speed painting is a pretty good way to test skills and recognize mistakes.

Amano's art is amazing and not just the Final Fantasy stuff. I'm going to try to study his work because of how he incorporates art nouveau.

Thanks Cat. I've never really paid to much attention to the FF art but I'll have to take a closer look.
