I used to be a serious Dragon Ball addict. Like, on a level that bordered on bizarre. I can still listen to "Cha-La-Head-Cha-La" today and know all of the words. Not essentially knowing what they mean, (I don't speak Japanese), but I know what the words are. I can still recite a considerable list of voice actors, both English and Japanese alike. Man, I was addicted to this show...
But that was ages ago, when I was a teenager. And although my tastes have changed considerably in time, and I can't say I'd really be interested in watching this thing now, I felt it necessary to pay homage to a cartoon which resonated so sweetly with me in the shittiest time of anyone's life- the teenage years. Featured in this picture are, primarily, the main characters of the segment known as "Dragon Ball Z", particularly highlighting the Freezer saga, since this is both the chapter with which Toriyama originally intended to end the franchise, and the chapter with which I feel Toriyama should have ended the franchise.
So, featured here are Son Goku and Gohan, "The Demon King" Piccolo, Vegeta, Bulma, and Krillin. Goku used to inspire me to push myself at a level that seems ridiculous to me now, given that he's a cartoon, but, albeit, I can't bash it, because my admiration for this cartoon character got my skinny ass into shape. I also had a huge cartoon crush on Bulma when I was 16. Which is also certainly nothing to brag about, but, hey, it's true.
So here is my tribute to a work of fiction that once meant a lot to me.
And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE no comments asking me "where is (your favorite character)?" Not trying to be a dick, but I ALWAYS see this stupid fucking question anytime somebody does a group fanart picture, and honestly, the answer is always going to be the same. If you want to see a DBZ picture with (your favorite character), go draw it yourself and share it with the world. This is mine, and these are the characters I chose to draw.
