Impulse one-night sketch and digital color fun ^^This is based off my laughing with my best friend about how she has an interesting inclination towards stormtroopers and blue skinned alien females XP And it's amusing as I further examined this concept in my head, because it's perfectly rational in some ways!
Geeks/nerds have caught a lot of flak throughout the ages. Wether it's bullying during the primary school years, social seclusion throughout life, or all around having trouble balancing their eccentric interests with pursuing a "normal" life.
However, in the modern day, tables have actually shifted and what used to be something to be potentially reserved about is now made popular through television shows and we've got large gatherings and conventions focused around this as an accepted lifestyle.
It might have been odd to see a grown man dress in a costume at one time, but today donning a matte black body suit, accented by semi-glossy white fiber-glass armor plates, and topped with a grimacing helmet that invokes instant recognition amongst thousands of fans actually can give a guy a shot of confidence and masculinity. Likewise, if they pull it off well, like-minded ladies have to admit there's something intriguing about a man clad in armor.
On the flip side, science fiction featuring humanoid characters of alien species for some reason present some sort of exotic appeal to men and women alike. But... particularly the guys seem to like imagining the variety of interstellar women.
Staying within the Star Wars genre the most iconic of course would be the multi-colored race of Twilek women.
Perhaps it's because they're something different from the same boring human interests we're presented with in reality? Is it the alluring colors? The way they seem to shimmer?
And so here's a picture combining both.
Troopers and blue chicks.
Did you think it immediately resembled something intended to be provocative? The cerulean lady looking coyly at the viewer before tossing her flowing hair-like lekku*?
Or did you objectively look at it as innocent? She's looking over uncertain because she doesn't think that helmet is gonna fit her? Why would they give her a standard human suit? What is she even doing here?!?
Well... it's not like I made her crawling towards the screen biting her lip while wearing the armor altered into a non-canon bikini configuration -.^
* Lekku is the noun (same both singular and plural) attached to the two head tentacles drooping from atop a Twilek's head. Which you'd know if you were a proper Star Wars nut!
