As the day rolled to an end, the sky was filled with an ember glow. The air carried a chorus of insects chirping in the long grass.

It had been a long day in the field and I was looking forward to a cup of tea and the warm embrace of my sleeping bag.

I started a campfire and the flame caught quickly as the area had been in a bit of a draught, making the logs perfect for kindling. I opened my pack to grab the kettle when I heard a strange call in the distance. It sounded like a group of birds cawing loudly as a group.

I grabbed my camera and walked into the long grass. As I waded through the thicket, I saw something in the distance. A large feathery head rose from the sea of stalks. Soon after, another head arose, then another. It wasn't three animals at all, but one... it was a Dodrio.

These Pokemon have rare physiology, as they have multiple heads. A number of Pokemon species have been known to have multiple heads, but it's still an elusive trait in nature.

I laid down in the grass and attached my long lens. It was a beautiful specimen, male, you can tell by their necks. Male Dodrio have black feathers on their necks and females have a soft cream colouration. It looked like a lone individual, probably on the lookout for a new flock. They usually hunt in teams of five, two of them distract and scare their prey, diving them in the direction of the other three, which finish it off.

I watched the giant bird as it proudly strode through the grass. After getting a number of beautiful shots, I quietly left for my camp, making sure not to draw any unwanted attention. I finally saw it disappear into the forest as the sky turned from red to blue.
