Description Alakazam’s. These are rare and powerful PokΓ©mon. Only a few have ever been seen in the wild.

Studies have been done and it is apparent that an Alakazam's brain is twice the size of a human with the storage ability of near triple capacity. Scientists have theorized that it uses more of its brain at any one time than humans do at any one time, especially the "psychic region, but its actual IQ is far lower than a humans. It was once thought to have an extreamely high IQ but this was found to be a myth as extensive research was carried out on their extreamly complex brains.
Because of this it is not smarter than a human (but has the potential to be) and its extremely powerful psychic abilities come from a subconscious part of the brain.

Alakazam are actually only found in capitvity as Kadabra have the 'hidden gene' complex, meaning they can never evolve naturally without the aid of humans.

This wasnt truly recognised til recently and Alakazam have been used in circuses performing pethetic tricks like bending spoons and moving glasses (when truly they are strong enough psychicly to lift up to 7 tonnes)

They are the most powerful psychic Pokemon on record in Kanto but there is talk of an even more powerful Pokemon thought to be extinct, still alive in the jungles of Kanto...

I thought, why would wild ones have spoons?

well, in pokemon spoons are used to sorta control and amplify psychic powers. in the pokemon manga mewtwo can even be seen with a giant spoon. plus in the wild, it would help alakazam on the hunt for its natural prey: the wild vanillux XDΒ

Spoons are a man made item, it wouldn't make sense for have them in the wild. Captivity yes, but the wild, no

u could have said that alakazams tend to raid peoples homes of spoons to use, they need people to evolve anyways so that could work

Alakazam are much smarter than humans will ever be, but they don't rule the world since ambition is an alien concept to them. Now the Dex is true to life (so to speak), and we have an explanation for why we aren't their slaves.

Renegade-Hamster [2007-11-07 02:10:18 +0000 UTC]

You say it only uses 5% of its brain, based on the statistic that humans only use 10% of their brains, right?

Well, that statistic is just an urban myth. Humans use ALL of their brains, just not all at the same time.

You should probably also know that it is not just the size of the brain that matters, but the complexity as well.

Also, certain parts of the brain (the memory section) could be larger, without increasing the "intelligence" of the creature. So you could still have a really large brain, but most of it is memory storage.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JoshuaDunlop In reply to Renegade-Hamster [2007-11-07 07:44:16 +0000 UTC]

Well what i was implying is that its brain is twice the size, twice the complexity and triple the memeory storage space. And the 'uban myth' you talk about isnt an urban myth, just a mis understood statement, humans use 10% of the potential of their brain, not just 10% of the 'actual' brain.

but can we not get drawn into another one of these debates cos i really cannot be bothered, and dude, this is fiction, not fact, so i could technacally write your brain is made of marshmellow and it wouldnt matter. just chill and enjoy the pictures, by all means point some things out but we dont need to do this every time you know
