Description Gloom are (dispite their name) very happy creatures.

Just as oddish they produce large amounts of nectar from their 'mouth' to lure insects to feed, then the Gloom eat them.

Gloom spend less time underground than oddish, and love to bathe in the sun. they live mainly in swampy areas or places that are constantly damp and hot.

The eyes, technically, are open, just through slits. This is because they are supposed to be nocturnal, but due to their need for sunlight, they have these slits, limiting retina damage. A bit like built in sunglasses. Its evo and prevo are more nocturnal based so they tend not to have them.

They have powerful spores that can poisen and paralyse if threatned, but in turn, strong medicenes and perfumes can be made from them.

hope you like it.

I enjoyed the analysis you gave in the description over the more minute details of the Gloom, such as its slit-like eyes. I'm a pokΓ©dork, so I appreciate stuff like that. xb

The drawing itself is just darling. ^ ^ I love the colors of the lush background, and Gloom's happy little expression. The butterflies add an extra little touch of cuteness. ^ ^

My all-time #1 favorite Pokemon since the first time I saw it. Not sure why, I guess I always felt it was one of the weirdest. Really great rendition of it!

Well, I'll be! You actually made gloom look cute! Never thought that could be done. Maybe it's less believable than some of your other pokemon (it's very toony in comparison), but it looks great! And the forest is amazing.

The flower's the best part of the pokemon. Maybe it doesn't look that much like a rafflesia, but it looks good.

This contrasts in style a bit with the Oddish, as this one looks more personified, eh? Mucho awesome as always.

JoshuaDunlop In reply to theamishpiscodemon [2008-06-19 12:12:06 +0000 UTC]

well its like the growth of a plant, oddish is like the bulb of a plant, gloom has more a texture of the stem of a plant, and vileplume is more like the top of the plant.

I have a question
it look's like the gloom has it's eye's closed but is it suposed to be like that all the time?
I mean when it's eye's look like that are thet in neutrul position or can it actually open it's eye's?
