Description
This is my first environment artwork from my Masters brief called 'Creature Prison'. I used Maciej Kuciara's tutorial for this. His work is incredibly inspiring and the work he did on 'The Last of Us' was stunning. So, a lil background. In my prison they keep all kinds of monsters and ghouls from werewolves to bigfoot.This level is called 'The Vault'. Here they keep Ghosts and Poltergeists. It get so cold on this level that people have to wear Hazmat suits.

This looks amazing! Love the concept, the atmosphere, everything! Although, I kinda feel bad for the ghosts because they are/were? people. But I guess if they do bad things they have to go to prison just as in life.

You have to imagine ghosts in this world as a glimpse in time of an overwhelming emotion, usually a negative one, created at the time of death. So vengeance, rage, loneliness, fear etc are all that's left, their humanity is gone and those emotions can kill, make others kill, commit suicide etc. So they are collected for study and to keep the world safe.

i'm having fun imagining the building of this facility, way back when. technology not as far developed, shimmying together solutions, gazing at the sheer expanse of the prison, and eating sandwiches with their legs dangling off what are now sealed off cells.

I love that idea. In my story it was built in 1931 under the Hoover dam. It provided secrecy for the build and a renewable power source

I don't usually look at this type of stuff on deviantart. but this one really caught my eye. It has a great atmosphere and i really like how even though the ghosts are behind bars, it feels they're still in control
