Description
This is my first environment artwork from my Masters brief called 'Creature Prison'. I used Maciej Kuciara's tutorial for this. His work is incredibly inspiring and the work he did on 'The Last of Us' was stunning. So, a lil background. In my prison they keep all kinds of monsters and ghouls from werewolves to bigfoot.This level is called 'The Vault'. Here they keep Ghosts and Poltergeists. It get so cold on this level that people have to wear Hazmat suits.

Not if the point was to study them individually, the Ghostbusters put them all into the same tank (which is actually what the large tanks at the back are for) the separate cells are to study the more dangerous entities

I’ve actually thought that they didn’t often enough put their psychology degrees to better use for rehabilitation of spirits. Slimer was the only one they were able to thoroughly test rehab on.
If that’s a big part of this, then it’s definitely worth while. You wouldn’t just be neutralizing a danger but also freeing a fundamentally human mind from hell.

What are the worst type of spirits kept inside the Vault?

Probably the vengeful spirits. Murderous, and filled with blind hate they simply want to kill. Some of the worst were murderers in real life

How does TIPHON deal with the more demonic and extraterrestrial threats?

Well, area 51 deals with extraterrestrial threats whereas Area 52: Tiphon, deals with terrestrial threats. 'Demonic' threats are very hard to contain, many are usually destroyed using forms of advanced science. However, one or two small 'demons' have been held and studied. As far as they can tell they are on a similar frequency as Ghosts, sitting just outside of our physical existence. They seem to be extremely ancient troubled spirits that have been around a very long time, feeding on grief and anger. 'Hell' is not seen as a real place, or any other religious afterlives and all creatures are treated as paranormal/scientific phenomena.

What was the worst thing that TIPHON has had to fix in their long history, besides the Titans' emergence?

They have been challenged by many things. I would say the Vampire outbreak in China, or the awakening of the Behemoth in the Red sea that destroyed 18 Us and Russian subs, almost triggering another world war

I'm not sure which I like better, the image, which is freaking beautiful or the story behind it, which is freaking genius. Have you seen CABIN IN THE WOODS? In the script the "monster stable" is referred to as the "Costco of Evil". I loved that idea until I saw your piece. Damn, they should of used this for the movie. I'm working on a novel (slowly) called ROT IN JAIL about a monster prison. Inspiring!

I think the ghosts have lost whatever sense they had of what it meant to be human by that point. they essentially are embodiments of raw emotion

No, though I have heard that their is a 'vault' in fallout. This is a project Im doing for my masters atm involving a military facility that capture monsters. Glad you like it
