Assignment one for

Story:
Zoey dropped herself down from the saddle, moving and stretching her legs. Luckily free from yesterdays hangover. Frikk chewed impatiently on his bit, clearly not tired at all. Zoey quickly looks up once she heard screams and laughter, realizing people were playing around in the snow, throwing snowballs and making snow angels. So the entire group had stopped just to play in the snow?

She started calmly walking a bit, so her own and Frikks muscles wouldn’t freeze. There was no way she would participate in such childish behavior. Or at least that’s what she told herself. Under the hard surface she was really just a child, but surrounded by strangers she closed that away the best she could. Acting more serious and hard, perhaps also coming off as slightly arrogant and snobbish at times.

She stopped to feed Frikk some pear slices she had kept wrapped in plastic in her pocket. He seemed happy for the treat, the sweet juice dripping from his lips as he ate. She tried to ignore all the things happening around her, but in the end she looked up. They did seem to have lots of fun didn’t they?

She leaned slightly against Frikks neck as she watched the others, stroking her hand over his fluffy fur. Right then she wished she could just throw herself out into the snow like the others, but that was not the way she acted around strangers. She slowly started poking around in the snow with the tip of her shoe. First she was just pushing the snow around, in no particular order, but after a while she started creating the shape of an angel. She was standing there all in her own world, not really paying attention to everything around her anymore, just peacefully decorating the snow as she warmed her cold cheek on Frikks fur.
