Description
This is from...August 2014? My contribution to Cafe-Sweetheart-AB , the pastry I chose was meringue. I tend to eat these in bunches so I drew a family. I had a comic regarding the situation illustrated, but I didn't had the time nor the necessary pages in the book.Truthfully, I'm not too excited for the result (hence I didn't upload it until now) but the background was a lot of fun. ^^ You can see the background without characters here

I think what I like most is what's going on. The picture tells a small story and you can perfectly see the personalities of all the characters involved in it.
Lately I started prefering such pictures over symbolic ones, if you get what I mean. XD
And I also love the clothes and the setting! I love old houses like this. They give you that cozy,Β middleage feeling. XD

This is really nice! I love the characters and how each one of them seems to have a lot of personality!! (especially the kid eating off the floor LOL that's really cute ((though she should not be doing that lol!!))
As far as a critique goes, I mainly don'tΒ like the angle of the picture floor-wise. It seems tilted too far back and it kinda makes the center of gravity confusing. (I feel like they'd be falling backwards) And perhaps you should've added a bit more hues to the picture? So much brown can be a little boring. It doesn't look that bad but nothing really pops in the picture? Also I don't like the chair and table, the brown mixes in too much with the floor and you have to look a bit more to find its edges. Those would be my negative critiques. But there's a good side too! I also really want to compliment you, again, on the characters and their expressions!! I really love them! I think the egg-yolk splat was done really well, it looks beautiful. And last but not least their poses are fantastic!!! <33 I love how there's a sense of movement!! And the hair shading is really good.
ANYWAYS I'm rambling, so I'll stop now. Hopefully that helped you a little bit though? (if you can make sense of all of that lol) xD

A little secret between us LOL I drew the floor first and then decided on the perspective, so the floor lacks the perspective of the rest of the picture. I liked it too much to get rid of it, haha...

Haha thanks! I used to draw countless of chibies before trying other styles, so drawing children has been the easiest for me because they're like chibies

Sorry, I don't. I suggest learning the differences between an adult face and a child one... Proportions to its core, basically. Then comes your styling, which is achieved noy, with personal approach. Or at least in my opinion.
