Description Update Log: 04/19/08

Hi everyone, this is just another quick...errr, semi quick update. I'm still super busy as always, but I found a little time to make a few changes.

Changes:
Reshaped the legs and added fur to them
Removed the rings from the horns
and a few minor flaws fixed

I'm not sure if the shape is right, I think it's something I can work on and play with. If you find that you don't like these new changes, the previous version can be found here: [link]

Update Log: 03/25/08

Hi everyone...I'm sorry that it'ss taking me so long to get back to everyone. I've been SUPER busy! *sigh* Anyways, I made a few 'minor' changes based on the the continued comments that I've been getting. I should have more by this weekend (hopefully).

Changes:

Added a second set of antlers on the otherside of her head
Resized and removed darkness around the eye
Added texture to her muzzle and hands
reshaped the head a little
removed the tattoo

Please keep the comments coming, I think were getting closer to a really great morph! :8)

---------------------------------

Update Log: 03/33/08

Ok, I've taken a lot of criticism to heart and I've 'tried' to make the appropriate changes. Keep in mind that this is a quick update, I haven't gotten to everyones request yet.

changes:
Reshaped the changed the color of the Muzzle (nose)
Eyes
Made the head bigger (not sure if it shows)
Added Fur
Reshaped the horns
Reshaped the hands, making them more hoof like

...and changed the animal from a straight deer to a reindeer to avoid horn confusion.

Anyways, keep the comments coming. If you like it, great! If something is off or needs changing, let me know! This is your project as well as mine this time.

Hi everyone,

Well, here I am again with another new morph...but this time, things are going to be a little different. How is that? Well as you look this morph over, what do you notice? *S* Don't see it? Well, to me...it's not quite complete. This is an old project I started some time ago and I thought it might be fun to get some interaction from the fans....still lost? Ok, let me explain:

This is an incomplete project, my goal is to get input and change it as nessary (hopefully this could be fun) I want everyone to tell me...What do you like about it? What don't you like? What needs improvement.

Also, what direction should I take? How about adding hoove? Should they be full or partial? Do I need to add fur? Yes...no? Should the muzzle be smaller? Anything that you fancy. Your opinions will help me shape and complete this morph (which I will be updating periodly)....I look at it as a team effort and a chance for people to have a say in what they want to see! YAH!

If this works out, I might do other projects this way. So, please...don't hold back! I want to hear what you think...really!!!

My currently list of future changes:
-reshape the hands into partial hooves
-add fur to certain locations (such as the arms)
-reshape the legs, making them more animal like

The bumps on the calves are wrong. The bones your are trying to show are actually part of the foot (heel)

I think that you should add a bit more fur, change the muzzle, the hand should be more like hooves and give her more deer-like legs.

I do love the manip thus far ><

This is so cool! The model is very slender - did you add to that effect? The neck has to be a modification?

Love the pose too - she seem so accepting of what is happening!

She is actually that thin, that's why I used her...that and I liked the pose. She is perfect for a deer morph. *S* The neck shape is nature, I added the fur. ^_^

Hi Jen! I really love how this turns out. I'm a big fan of the fur on her neck, and i think i agree with most people saying you should work her legs out too. NeoZoan provides powerful advises.

One other thing that has not been mentioned yet is the shadow on the wall on the background. The subject has a tail and antlers but her shadow does not. I really think this point is not just a small detail, as it will immediately give more realistic features to the pic. And it's not that hard to do... ^^

Go on, i can't wait to see the final reindeering! xD

Love the hands!! Any more hoof-like and it'll loose the elegance!

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this but the back/nape of her skull/neck seems to be too low, now that her jawline is higher. If she now has a very short facial bone structure then perhaps it would look best if the back of her skull was as well.

NeoZoan In reply to ??? [2008-03-29 05:13:06 +0000 UTC]

Upon viewing the original stock I can see why you chose this model to be morphed into a deer woman. Her features are extraordinarily thin and long and what you've done here is exaggerate the existing attributes subtlety. This is a good move and I believe all potential photomanipulators should learn from this. Folks - "If your are doing an animal morph, your model should remind you of the nature of the animal you wish him/her to transform into. Your job is to bring out those animalistic qualities."

I have three comments I would like to make.

1 - The eye of your subject has become blurred and distorted a bit as your enlarged it. I understand that you needed to perform a distortion, but this requires some cleanup as it is through the eyes that your viewers will connect with your piece. I looked at the original, and the model's eye, viewed from the side does look difficult to work with, but in this case - less may be more. Another thing to try would be to add some highlights to the eyes so that they do not look too flat.

2 - The antler on the far side (left) of her head is almost exactly the same shade and color as the right. This, to me, causes the illusion that her antlers are more like tentacles growing from the top of her skull. If you add some additional shadowing to the far-side antlers they may begin to feel more like they are coming from the left side of her head. For reference, I would look at how much darker her left arm is when compared to her right.

3 - At this moment, I cannot judge with certainty whether this creature is in the process of transforming or simply exists with these features. The hole you've made in her skirt for the tail (which I think looks adorable by the way) looks like they made it herself, and then embellished it a bit with some ruffles made from the same fabric as her skirt. It does not look torn, nor do I believe that this tail can burst a hole in her skirt, but then again I'm being real nit-picky here.

... And One Suggestion

- You may be able to take advantage of the relatively plane background and alter her 'hind' legs, giving the impression that her thighs have shortened and her feet have elongated and her stance is becoming digitigrade. I get the feeling that some subtle hints may give the viewers the impression that she is about to lose her balance and fall forward onto all fours.

Good luck with finishing this piece. It's good to see some fresh manipulations. There are WAY too many catgirls around. :-P

Hi NeoZoan,

Thank you for the comments on 'Work in Progress', I'm always looking for ways to improve my morphs (especially from a great digital artist). I agree with you about her eyes...as you said her eye is a bit hard to work with and it distorts and becomes fuzzy very easily. I tried the high-light around her eyes, but it didn't come out right (see 2nd original in the scrap bin). My other options are to reconstruct her eye (draw it) or use someone elses eye and blend it in. I really do think that the enlarged eye is important for her overall expression though...*sigh* why can't this be easier? *L*

As for the antlers, I honestly didn't notice (smacks self). But, I see what you mean and I totally agree, I'll add a bit more of a shadowing to the far-side antler and see if I can make it look a little better. I'm probably going to remove the rings too.

As for the tail and the skirt ripping...well, I'm curious now...what would you do to give it a more ripped look? *S* This is a transformation, but I'd also argue that she reached back and ripped it open....or the back end could have been ripped earlier by something or someone else. *S*

*smiles* I agree with you about the legs and that is what I plan on doing next with her (other then a few other changes), I might make two version though. One with the legs changes, and one without. The camp is split on this one....half requests that I change the legs or I get smacked, the other wants me to leave them alone (it's fine the way that it is, change it and we'll hurt you). But, at this point i'd like to see what her legs would look like with a few changes. ^_^

Thanks agan NeoZoan, I'm happy that you stopped and for the pointers *hugs* Thank you!

P.S. Awww...really? I think your catgirls are some of the best! *L* Though...if you really want, you could always try a piggy ^_^

Legs darken,
shoulderblades reform to accomodate her new form better,
other hand changes to become more hooflike,
muzzle darkens,
and something needs to be done with the horns... hmm...
I don't know quite what you're wanting this to turn out to be, but they could grow some. That's just my opinion.

What a terrific concept. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.
As for my thoughts, I have to agree with the antler snob; it just doesn't seem right: for one she has a lot of points on such a short sprout and what I noticed right off was that she only has an antler growing on the right side of her head. Maybe that's throwing it off balance.
I would also consider darkening her forming hooves and adding light fur to her legs and belly. I might also consider "skinnying" up her legs some how, they are not as chicken leg as they could be (as if she's not skinny enough).
Anyway, I love the idea and those are my thoughts on making tweaks to it. Good luck.
