before he lost his arm, he was a combatant... very idealistic combatant... he never want to use any crystals, coz its considered as cheating to him... but one day, this crystal from talons explode right next to him, and he sustained heavy injury on his arm... the doctor have to amputate it.. hence he's little bit traumatized and learned how dangerous but magnificent a crystal was, and decide to become a strategist and crystal expert to study crystals..
