It would almost be editorial, then - like the image accompanying an anorexia article. Powerful.

If you wouldn't mind me taking a crack at it, I'd love to get the original file from you and put it up with credit to you and the original drawing, as well. Cheers to your conceptual approach already!

the image is actually a merge of two photos! Thanks for the offer but i'd prefer to keep hold of the originals - would love to see your version of it though if you found a model (:

Nice effect, it does well to express the concept. I don't believe it needs to be made more prominent and obvious, the subtly allows the message to pull through without distracting the viewer right away with the effect. If you still feel it needs a rework, I would only extend the length of the stress lines to cover more of the midriff. ^_^
