Description This is my first real attempt at making a digital painting from scratch. I welcome any sort of critique that comes my way since this obviously needs more work. That aside, I'm pretty pleased with myself since I thought it would be terrible in comparison.

This is simply a guy in a leather jacket making a slightly disturbed face. I have no idea why I did his skin so yellow.

It's very nice for being the first attempt! What software did you use? I don't know if you used a tablet, but if you didn't I am very impressed. Painting with a mouse is such a struggle >____>

Thanks for the compliment! I used Krita and a Wacom Intuos CTH-480 tablet. Honestly can't figure out how I pulled this off.

Oh, I've never heard of Krita, what type of software is that?

It's part of the Calligra suite which is a bunch of open source software. I run Linux so it was quite pleasing to find such a refined piece of art software. Krita itself is focused on digital painting, so it has an edge over Photoshop or GIMP if you aren't planning on doing major edits.

Here's a link if you want to try it. Runs on pretty much everything and open source software is 100% free.

I looked it up and it looks great! I might actually try it out! Another fun fact about it is "Krita" actually translates to "crayon" in swedish

I think I might've looked that up a long while back and forgot about it. Also you have some really amazing stuff on your page, so I'm going to add you to my watch if you don't mind.

For a first attempt, not bad.

I think what I really need more of is color diversity. Do you have anything I should really focus on to improve?

Thanks for the compliment by the way.

I don't know. I just saw you from AtomicLance's journal and felt like being nice. I don't even digitally draw.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go yell at stupid people and lose hope in humanity. In other words: Youtube's Comment Section.
