Description

A lot of these 'through the years' drawings I keep making are mostly just an excuse to draw a bunch of different attires (I do love drawing characters as they age and change as well, but the outfits is a major part of the fun). I originally had no intentions of making this as I thought I'd only end up drawing the same outfits as I did when drawing Jinora -Through the Years-, but upon discovering some early Ikki concept art I suddenly got an idea.

Following is a list of where the various outfits originate from:

1. First one is an outfit Ikki wore in some early concept art. She's about the same age here as she's in Book 1. Perhaps even a bit younger.

2. Second one is basically just the standard airbender attire with a pretty cape on top of it. The airbender kids are seen wearing this while attending the gala Tarrlok through in Korra's honor (Episode 4, Book 1). Her age in this second drawing is the same as she's in Book 2 and 3.

3. During the announcement of the new President of the United Republic of Nations in the comic "Turf Wars", several of the airbenders are seen wearing their Book 4 outfit with a red sash across their upper body (the lower body is not visible). I originally drew this third version of Ikki like that but ultimately thought it was a bit boring. I therefor added some more cloth on top of the Book 4 outfit to make it even more festive, and in the end she ended up wearing a very similar outfit to that of her mother. Her age in the third drawing is the same as in Book 4.
