I have a coworker of mine who transitioned from women to man over the summer. I can remember coming into their office and sort of sensing they had changed, though it really didn't hit me until they told me to call them by the masculine form of their name. I was rather embarrassed by that bit. After that it was a bit confusing to think of them as a man, though eventually the change settled in. While I can't speak about them directly or really know what is going on in their life, I can honestly hope that they are doing well. Seeing a picture like that, even though I can relate the the receiver of the words, I also know what it can be like to be the women in that picture too.

I do too to some degree. I've definitely thought some things when observing people or relating to them that - in hindsight were ignorant thoughts.
We all have to go through that process as we learn, and it's good to acknowledge and honor that fact that ALL of us are we still learning/just now talking.

If we all could accept things from a new light, be aware of our mistakes, and be willing to learn and take away from them, world would be a much more tolerant and empathetic place.
