Excellent work.  I'm curious, what version of Reality and Daz are you using.  I'm using the latest Daz but was using Luxus.  I don't get anywhere near the quality.  And I can't get my Reality 2 to work.  Your help is appreciated.

Cheers...
It's DAZ Studio 4.6  -  Reality 2.5  -  LuxRender 1.3

If i remember right, Reality 2 won't work in DS4.5 onwards - the upgrade to 2.5 was free so long as you could show your original transaction receipt etc.  But if you've already got 2.5 and it's not working, I wouldn't know why there's a problem - oh, that's assuming you're not using a beta version of DAZ Studio (it asks for Reality to be registered every time you boot it up) - only use Reality in the official release versions of DS.

For troubleshooting, your best bet is to try the RDNA forums... forum.runtimedna.com/forumdisp…

When using Luxus, you can get good results by setting skin to "glossytranslucent" Luxus material, but the render times using it are typically longer than via Reality, not to mention the extra time spent fiddling with the dials to find the best settings because they're hardly obvious with no material preview.  The results can be just as breathtaking as anything else out there, but the process to get there is much longer and harder than Reality.

Thanks for everything.  I wasn't ever sure I could ever get the results you got, but I'm confident I can do that know with the information you gave me.  Looking forward to more of your work.

The lighting is lovely and the outfit, albeit minimal, very nice too - Is the fabric a dynamic item like the teddy brief?

cheers... it's "Shawl for V4" from the OptiTex store www.optitex-dynamiccloth.com/S… and posed it via a drape animation.
For the look of the shawl, I set opacity to around 40% and adjusted the colour in the diffuse channel.

She's all alone because every time she falls in love with someone, she stabs them to death with her nipples.  It's tragic.

Kidding.  I kid.  The actual reason I'm leaving a comment is that the lighting is really well done.  It /does/ look sunny, and the reflection in the Deco bits on the back wall is perfect for the scene.  The draped aqua fabric creates a lovely, ethereal contrast to the bold red and yellow, but the softer colors of the chairs and floor bring it together with them so that it doesn't seem clashy.  There's a bit of misty, romantic atmosphere to the scene.  And the skin looks nice, something not the easiest to achieve in Reality/Lux.  All in all a very good lighting and color composition.

If I have to look at girly pinups, this is the kind of girly pinup I want to see - it pleases as an art piece without being another "girl on a plain backdrop staring into space" clone.  This is a good exercise in treating the female body as an artistic subject without the kind of drooly exploitation that leads to poor-quality renders, and I both like and respect that.

Well, maybe not fatal, but she could certainly have somebody's eye out with those things

cheers... I used a couple of softboxes for the front lighting to try to make the lighting as soft and light as possible without having to crank the light dome too high, which would destroy the sunset through the window.

Drooly-Exploitation... b, b, but who told you my middle name?  Some secrets are never safe...
