Description
Current the electric cat, in her latest incarnation...The scan turned out much darker than it actually is - and she looks a lot bluer in the scan for some reason. Argh.
For sale at Conifur 2005 in the art show
EDIT: I changed the image a bit and it looks more like the original colors, but still a bit too dark. C'est la vie

This came out very well. Its kinda of a relief to see something that isn't digital for once.

That is some very impressive colouring, especially considering the amount of detail. I like how she seems to have a sliiight bit of belly as opposed to a concave washboard. The digital aspect of the paw pads is a delightful design concept. The muzzle almost strikes me as maybe being a tad narrow...? Still, it's a nifty concept that's very well-executed. Good stuff.

Thank you ... I like my girls with a little bit of tummy to them ^.^...
I'm glad you like the paw pads - I am satisfied with the idea behind them, but not 100% with the execution...
The muzzle size I think would vary based on what species she was modeled after, but I chose a small muzzle to give her a more feminine appearance

Thank you And yep, it is traditional... I have been working for years on a coloring system which could rival modern computer coloring - as I have never been comfortable working with a computer to do my artwork...
In order to do this, I've used many different media in combinations - in this piece, Acrylic paint, marker, colored pencil, and ink... Often times I use watercolor as well, and I've even been known to use coffee, which makes a nice sepia tone ^.^...

Thanks for replying, I rarely ever comment on Daily Deviations thinking that people get enough comments as it is and don't really tend to notice them all.
I am so glad you mentioned coloring with a computer, since alot of people tend to use it and I think it is rather unfair to the other artist that can't afford to buy a computer program, and knowing that people can work so well on a piece of traditional work means alot to me :3
And you use coffee? Wow, that's interesting, you really seem to know how to work art with, well, just about everything and that takes alot of talent, I am sure!

Wow... That's all I can say. This is an absolutely amazing piece. Such attention to detail, the lighting effect on it, It's so well done! But more importantly, I get a real meaning out of it. It seems to me that the furdom has really evolved to something like this, almost. Almost all furs find the furdom on computers and the internet. But more are really tied to computers, which is why meets and cons are such sacred time to furs, face time in real life. Just incredible work. There's no way I couldn't +fav this!

You know, that is an excellent interpretation...
It is very true - that the furry fandom is very dependant on the internet, and on computers to keep in touch... and most discover it on the internet... I did ^.^...
Current is actually an old cybernetic character of mine who has evolved over the years, and I use her in drawings when I want to push my boundaries and show to myself my improvement in X period of time....

As did I, as well ^_^
I like that use, actually, maybe I'll try making a character like that, because if there's one thing that I need, it's to see that I have improved, other than from when I first started drawing ^.^ Yeah, those were pitiful Again, great work, and I look forward to seeing more!

If you mean 'was it drawn on computer?', then no, it was all done freehand in acrylic paints, markers, and pencils on 11"x14" bristol board... the scan made it a bit dark - in the original you can see the brushstrokes in the background and such .
Is she computerized? I certainly think so .

Now that is very very cool. Excellent work. I have to say the fact that its mixed traditional media earns even more respect. Not knowing how to do any of the digital stuff myself, I dont know the level of effort that must go into it, but I do know about pastels and colored pencils. This is just amazing, with the level of detail you have given her and her surroundings.
I love it!
