Description
Another little bird.. modeled after a cardinel (and yes, female cardinals are sort of yellowish brown with markings).. I like how in the wintertime, little birds fluff their feathers up like little coats to keep warm. Makes them look almost furry. I have never done snow before, and I'm not sure I'm happy with it.Did I mention I really like little birds?

Thank you.. Because of the abstractness of the background, I decided to leave the snow a bit more choppy..

This is so lovely. His expresion is spot on for those kind of birds. I just love it when they cant their head to the side.

I do too.. I particularly love little birds in the wintertime, because they fluff their feathers up so much.. they look almost furry. Thank you for the comment.

This is a dorable! I love the head cocked to the side! The snow looks fine to me, your style is a bit impressionistic and so the snow fits well with it.

this birdie was one of the kind that my father had as a kid...they were not actually kept in cages, but would come in to te kitchen and had a big branch there for them.

How cool. We actually had several small wrens like that when I was growing up.. We'd found some baby birds that had been ousted before their time, and fed them.. took care of them for a month.. after that, two would always come back to the house and let us feed them..

that is so beautiful...i tried to feed a birdie when i was a kid, but i guess it was just too small to be fed that way so it didn't survive. probably was cold too, with no mommy to sit on it and keep it warm.

Very nicely done. Reminds me quite a bit of some Japanese art I own. I have a couple of cardinals that live in my yard and they are so much fun to watch.

Actually, they're not that lil.. They're slightly bigger than the males, and I shouldn't know that, should I? For some reason, I feel just like I've been caught singing the Hamtaro theme.. without my daughter present..
I'm glad you like it. There are lots more birds to follow.

Really? I'm rather partial to them myself.. real birds, fake birds..
But I don't think I'd want a bird as a pet.. how ironic.
THanks muchos Madscott.

If I told you, I'd have to kill you
Just like you would a real painting.. slap blocky colors on, start smearing them around, add a few detailing colors, start smearing them around, and keep going until you get the way you think it should look.
And most of the time, it's a happy accident.

Ooohhh. Pretty, pretty! I adore your cardinal. *stares* And that snow must have been so much work! :claps: It's beautiful! That one twigy branch to the right and down looks kinda big compared to the branch, but other than that, y'know... I really, really like the cardinal!
