Species:
Giant, amphibious mammalian reptile with genetic roots dating back to the Permian Era.

History:
Possibly the last of a species of giant, amphibious, proto-mammalian reptiles that existed in an era when the planet was bombarded by ten times the radiation than it is today, Godzilla and his species ruled Permian Era Earth as an apex predator, keeping in check other radiovorous gigafauna, before the Permian-Triassic Event forced him and other creatures that had adapted to the harsh environment and fed on the radiation to flee deep beneath the earth or to the deepest parts of the sea where they managed to sustain themselves with energy from the planet's core. However, it is assumed the subject was disturbed from his slumber either from the dropping of Little Boy in Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945, or the appearance of a hive-based Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism (or M.U.T.O. for short) designated as 'Shinomura' (named after the Japanese word Shi no Mure or 'swarm of death'). Throughout the late 40's before disappearing on 1950, Godzilla and the Shinomura appeared along the Pacific before the former gained the codename "Gojira" after a dragon of Odo Island legend by Daisuke Serizawa. In the two attempts to search for him by the U.S.S. Nautilus, in the early days of 1954, Godzilla had reawakened and resulted in the disappearances of American and Soviet submarines before resuming his hunt for the Shinomura (or Shinomuras as a cell exposed to radiation grew into another creature and escaped Monarch captivity in search of its counterpart). The existence of Godzilla was heavily debated until late February of 1954, when he and both Shinomuras converged on Moansta Island and a battle ensued, setting half of the island ablaze and resulting in the death of one of the Shinomuras. In an attempt to destroy both creatures, General MacArthur ordered the implementation of the then-recent Hydrogen bombs under the guise of tests. Though the March 1st Castle Bravo test killed the last Shinomura, Godzilla came out unscathed before disappearing after several other H-bomb detonations. In 2014, Godzilla revealed himself to the public eye following the insurgence of two M.U.T.Os dubbed Janmuto and Femuto, surfacing in Honolulu which was then flooded due to his massive size and engaging in a brief fight with Janmuto. Godzilla later resurfaced in San Francisco, California where he engaged both monsters in a lengthy battle before killing them both and returning to the sea the following day.

Five years following his first public appearance, Godzilla has now resurfaced again, though it is clear he is willing to protect the balance of nature from other monsters like him... and humanity as well. Though he is regarded as the last of his kind, the possibility of other members of his species being still alive has not been ruled out.

Behavior:
When first sighted in the 40's, 50's, and 2014, Godzilla displayed behaviors commonly found in territorial predators and seemed to have a very single-minded motivation in attacking rival species such as the Shinomuras, Janmuto, and Femuto while being aloof to humans at best or annoyed by them at worst. However, five years after the Battle of San Francisco, Godzilla has since then displayed much more hostile and unpredictable behaviors, tending to retaliate against military fire or purposefully tearing his way through populated areas to get to his rivals. It is this newfound hostility towards humans that has resulted in the approval for Project: MechaGodzilla. In both cases, Godzilla displays almost dolphin-level intelligence when in combat.

Unique features:

  • Godzilla has evolved to a point he is able to absorb and metabolize radiation despite clearly being carnivorous in nature due to a Kamoeba carcass washing up on the shores of Odo Island in 2020. It is this adaptation that allowed him and other Permian Era Gigafauna like him to survive.
  • Godzilla is capable of expelling excess radiation in the form of an "Atomic Breath", a stream of Cherenkov Radiation-laden plasma resembling blue fire from his mouth. However, more recently, Godzilla has shown to be able to hold back his Atomic Breath and release it from the pores of his skin as a shockwave-like "Nuclear Pulse" which can prove quite devastating to those surrounding it. In spite of these abilities, Godzilla seems to be more comfortable fighting his opponents up close and personal.
  • Studies of Godzilla's skin and blood samples from the 2014 Honolulu and San Francisco incursion reveal Godzilla possesses tremendous regenerative abilities enabled to him by his cellular structure. Whether this is an ability his entire species possessed or a mutation granted to him by the H-Bomb "testings" is unknown.
  • Due to his amphibious nature, Godzilla possesses gills along the side of his neck. When he's on land, he can close these gills and breathe using a pair of lungs. His gills also seem to be a rather sensitive area on his body as he was seen lashing out when they were fired upon by a US military platoon on the Golden Gate Bridge.
  • Godzilla's bones are believed to be as strong and dense as titanium, steel, and tungsten alloys. It is this incredibly sturdy skeletal structure that enables Godzilla to walk on land without his body collapsing in on itself.

I like the fact of Godzilla probably being a proto-mammal/reptiles creature, something I always had in mind.

Well... let's just say, Godzilla found out what humanity's been doing to his planet as he slept all those years ago and now he's taken the time to let it sink in.

You prefer a villainous Godzilla, or one hostile to humanity at least as I've seen.

Nope. Or at least not as far as I know. This is just my own continuation of the 2014 movie and my version of the Monsterverse.

Now I dig this, I really do but I kinda have mixed feelings on the whole LegendaryGoji behaving more like classic Godzilla. I mean one of my favorite things in regards to G'14 was that this Godzilla was pure neutral. That said I'm still interested to see where you go with this regardless of my reservations

Let's just say Goji found out what humanity had been doing to Nature as he slept those millions of years and he ain't happy.

Don't worry, he's still upholding Nature's balance... it's just that humanity's now on his hit-list.

Pretty much. Though, frankly I would not be surprised to see them go this route in the next two Monsterverse films.
