Chapter 2
After a short trip, they arrive to the middle of the island, Legendary and Godzilla stopped. Junior looked around, but something was wrong. There was no one there. “Uh, dad? I think my opponent’s a noshow.” Junior said. “Look harder, that’s also what today’s training session is about.” Godzilla replied. Junior, annoyed, moves his head closer to the nearby thick foliage, focusing his eyes on whatever may be there. Then, quick as a flash, an unidentifiable kaiju jumped out of the foliage, hitting Junior and knocking him down. The creature then showed itself by standing on a large boulder. It was the camouflaging mantis, Kamacuras! Then, out of the blue, 2 more showed up, the three attempting to intimidate junior with their numbers. “Hmm, doesn’t seem like a fair fight.” Legendary said. “If he’s got any of me in him, he’ll be able to handle himself, and since when do you care about a fair fight?” Godzilla replied. For a few seconds, Junior and the Kamacuras stared each other down, then, one of them jumped toward Junior, only to be grabbed by the neck and pinned to the ground. The second Kamacuras then took advantage of this and leaped at him as well, only to be whacked into a hill by Junior’s tail. At this time, the 2 Kamacuras both leaped at Junior at the same time, only to be flung away by Junior, who was using the first Kamacuras like a living bludgeon. As the two remaining Kamacuras got up, Junior continued his assault, attempting to throw the Kamacuras into a boulder nearby. The Kamacuras then caught itself and turned invisible, same as its cohorts. The three then attacked Junior from all sides, overwhelming him and knocking him to the ground before concealing themselves once again. Godzilla then yelled out “Junior! You can’t solely rely on your eyesight! Use your other senses!” Junior then closed his eyes and took deep breaths, allowing him to relax himself to the point of being able to hear their movements and feel their footsteps. He sat silent, then when two of the Kamacuras jumped at him from different sides, he caught both by the throat and hit their heads together, knocking both unconscious and temporarily incapacitating them. The third then leapt at Junior, only to be knocked to the ground by his tail. He then charged up his atomic breath, his spines glowing a turquoise blue, then a blood red, as he blasted an extra powerful red-spiral atomic ray at the Kamacuras, burning it alive and killing it. Junior then roared in victory as the other 2 Kamacuras fled, fearing for their lives. Junior then turned around to his father and Legendary and said “So, How’d I do?” Feeling quite proud of himself. Legendary sat astonished, and he was about to speak when Godzilla interrupted him, yelling “What was that!? I never taught you that!” Junior replied with a shrug. “Well, wherever you learned it, I don’t want to see you do that ever again, got me!?” Junior replied confusedly with “Why not? I won, didn’t I?” Godzilla then demanded “Because I don’t want you to….. Because I’m your father and I know what’s best for you! Now, go on! Training’s done for today!” Junior then begged with “Aww, come on, dad. Can’t I fight someone else? I just know I can beat them!” Godzilla then yelled “No! I said we’re done for today, now go on!” Junior then stomped off, angrily muttering. As soon as Junior was out of sight, Legendary then said to Godzilla ”Jeez, you really came down hard on the kid. What’s your deal?” Godzilla then sighed “I just don’t want him to turn out like Uncle Shin, constantly obsessing about how powerful he was, thirsting for more power and driving himself mad for it. That was why we had to seal him away in that Iceberg all those years ago.” Legendary then reassured him “Don’t worry about him, he’s a good kid. But you have to stop treating him like he’s still just a little hatchling.” Godzilla then said “Well, it’s not just that. It’s been hard, ever since Bijira…..” Legendary responded “Yeah….. I miss her too” Godzilla then began to speak again “That’s also why I don’t want him to end up like Shin….. He shouldn’t become the one who took his mother from him.” Legendary then said to Godzilla, comforting him “Well, one good thing is that she’s looking down on us with Mom and Dad.” Godzilla then smiled, looking up at the clouds and said “Yeah, I guess they are. Thanks, Legendary.” Legendary responded with “You’re welcome, big bro.“
