Jeikudon: Prince of KaijuA Kaiju Fan-story By Jacob F
Chapter 1
In the king’s palace of Kaijuria, its heir, Jeikudon, was still asleep by midday. He lay still under his sheets, the only movement being from his breathing. All was silent. But he was about to get a loud awakening, as his guardian, Gutritus, arrived to his locked door. He banged on the door, shouting “Jeikudon! Jeikudon! Get up!” The sudden commotion caused him to fall out of his bed, quickly responding to Gutritus’ demands with a sluggish “I’m coming, I’m coming.” He then opened the door to him, as he said ”Jeikudon, do you even remember what today is?” He quickly perked up “Yes! Tomorrow’s my coronation! I’ll finally be the king I was destined to be!” Jeikudon exclaimed in excitement. Gutritus then said “Your parents would be so proud of who you’ve become, despite your…shortcoming. Speaking of your parents, I need to show you something.” He then led Jeikudon to a hidden part of the castle that he had never seen before. He looked around in amazement and saw a large painting of two kaiju, who each bore a striking resemblance to him “Are those my parents?” He asked. Gutritus answered “Yes, they are your parents, Jeikudon. They had this made when your mother became pregnant with you.” Jeikudon looked at the painting, He was silent for a moment, he then smiled and said “Mom, dad, I’m gonna make you proud.” Gutritus then put his hand on Jeikudon’s shoulder and said to him ”You will, but I need to warn you about your uncle. He wants your position, and will do anything to get it. The first thing you need to do when you are king is lock him up.” Jeikudon then responds “What? Uncle Kyomyraxus wouldn’t hurt me. I’m his only nephew.” Gutritus then said worriedly “Jeikudon, This isn’t a game. He will kill you if he gets the chance. Promise me you’ll stay away from him until you’re king.” Jeikudon then sighed and said “Fine, if you’ll get off my back about it.” Gutritus thanked him and led him out of the passage. Jeikudon then said “Thank you for showing me this.” Gutritus then said “You’re welcome, but remember what I said.” Jeikudon then replied “don’t worry, I will.” As he walked off, Gutritus went to close the door to the passageway, and was confronted by Kyomyraxus’s three servants, Anchoron, Torkorus, and Dreegora. He then said “What do you three want?” Anchoron responded “Kyomyraxus wants something of you.” Gutritus, suspicious, replied “What is it, might I ask?” The three then grabbed him, shutting him up before he could scream. Anchoron then said “He wants you imprisoned!” As they dragged him off to the dungeon before anyone noticed. Later that night, Jeikudon sat on the balcony of his room, thinking about his ever-arriving role as king. He heard someone walking towards him, it was his uncle, Kyomyraxus. He nervously said “Hello uncle” he said with a sheepish smile “How are you doing tonight?” He asked. Kyomyraxus said “I’m fine. So, you have your coronation tomorrow, that must be exciting.” Jeikudon then replied “It is.” As Jeikudon and Kyomyraxus looked down from the balcony, Kyomyraxus pointed out “Have I ever told you about that perch?” As the two looked at an elongated balcony, Kyomyraxus then said “That’s your father’s perch. He would stand there, watching over the kingdom, like the strong king he was. That reminds me, you probably should go up there at least once before you are king, just to see how you like it, I insist.” He said, nudging Jeikudon with his long, prehensile tails. As the 2 got to the top, Jeikudon looked out in amazement “It’s so beautiful” he said, looking from atop his father’s perch. As he looked on, the three servants of Kyomyraxus slowly crept behind him and grabbed him, restraining him. “Uncle!” He cried. “Please tell these heathens to release me!” Kyomyraxus then closed his eyes and chuckled. As he walked away, Kyomyraxus then said “Make sure no one ever finds his remains.” Jeikudon then struggled and fought, almost wrenching himself free. “Oh, no you don’t!” Anchoron yelled, and the last thing Jeikudon saw before he went unconscious was Anchoron’s appendage held in the air, ready to strike. The next time he awoke, he was being dragged far from the kingdom, through a canyon, to make sure no trace of him was found. Torkorus then smirked toothily, then said “Did the prince enjoy his last little nap?” Dreegora then whined “Be careful not to get any of his blood on me!” Torkorus then said “Eehh, shut up!” As he raised his blade-like arm, about to stab Jeikudon, A quick yellow flash hit him to the ground. Jeikudon was unable to see his defender because he was being restrained by Anchoron. The mystery warrior then took Dreegora down and tackled Anchoron, knocking Jeikudon’s head against a rock. In his last few seconds of consciousness before he passed out, Jeikudon heard the creature’s moaning, wailing roar. The next time he woke up, Jeikudon was under a brown blanket, probably made of burlap. He rubbed his head and looked around. He was in a tent of some sort. Just then, a mysterious voice said to him “Don’t worry, you’re safe now.” Jeikudon then looked behind him, where the sound was coming from. It was a yellowish kaiju, with a green shell and spines. He didn’t look much older than he was. Jeikudon then said, confused “Who are you? Where are we?” The stranger then spoke again “My name is Henkuiron. You’re in an encampment for refugees and orphans. I saved your life from the three who wanted to kill you” Jeikudon then said “Thank you. My name is Prince Jeikudon, Son of Jeykron.” Henkuiron then said with a chuckle “Well, son of Jeykron, you took a bad hit to the head, so you should rest.” Feeling the throbbing pain in his head, Jeikudon winced and said “Trust me. I will.” Henkuiron then said, leaving the tent “When you wake up, I’ll introduce you to the rest.” Jeikudon then laid down and began to fall asleep, trying to ignore the pain in his head, wondering who else lived there.
