Chapter 2
Jeikudon found himself repeatedly waking up that night, and falling back asleep, haunted by the fact, that his uncle, the only family he’s ever known, betrayed him. He woke up the next morning, tired and sad, he opened the tent slightly to see out of it, and what he saw was beautiful. A beautiful forest in the background, a massive, sparkling lake, and a group of tents similar to his in the foreground. He slowly walked out and tried to not attract attention from others in the camp. As he sat down, a young female kaiju sitting next to Henkuiron said softly “Look who’s awake.” Henkuiron then greeted Jeikudon and said “Well, son of Jeykron, you should meet everyone here” He then gestured to him to sit next to him. Henkuiron then stood up and said to the other few kaiju who were there “Everyone, this is the new arrival, Jeikudon, the son of Jeykron!” A turquoise fin-backed kaiju then came up to the two and said ”Welcome, new guy. I’m Supirokodon.” A random green long-necked kaiju looked at him from behind and said “Doesn’t look like a prince to me.” Another kaiju very similar to him also came from behind and said “Well, I’ll take his word for it.” The first one then said “Who asked you, Migirah!” The second then rebutted “Well, sometimes I like to speak my mind, Hidarius!” The two then got up, revealing that they were two heads on one body then began to argue and bicker. The female kaiju then said to him “I’m Kotora, I hope we get to be close friends.” Then, from the sky, there was the sound of beating wings. Jeikudon looked up at a 4-winged female kaiju coming closer to the camp. He looked at her, and he felt as he had never felt before, as if he were staring at an angel, with the sun at her back. She quickly landed and said “Oh, hey new guy. I’m Raikura. I helped get your tent set up when Henkuiron brought you here.” She then looked at Kotora, who was surprisingly calm. She said “Uh, Kotora, are you OK? Because you’re not fawning over the new guy like you usually are.” Kotora then said “That’s because I can tell you want him.” She suddenly froze up, her face blushing red. She then giggled nervously and said awkwardly ”What, hehe, I-I-um- don’t have a crush on him, if that’s what you’re implying.” Kotora then moved closer to her, trying to get her to admit it, “Come on, I saw the way you were looking at him wh -” Raikura then managed to cover her mouth, and said through gritted teeth “Why don’t we talk somewhere more private?” She then walked away, making sure Kotora came with her. Jeikudon then said “What was all that about?” Henkuiron then said “Heck if I know.” Jeikudon then looked and noticed one tent wasn’t open. He then spoke to the kaiju already there “Who’s in there?” Supirokodon then responded “That’s the tent of Dogorron, the one who began taking us all in when we had nowhere else to go.” Jeikudon then replied “Does he ever come out?” Supirokodon then said to him “Not too often.” Jeikudon wondered what to expect from him. Who was he? Where did he come from? Meanwhile, the girls finally reached a place where Raikura knew where no one would hear their conversation. She released Kotora and she said “Ok, spill it. You and I both know you have feelings for him.” Raikura then exhaled, and said “It’s true, I do think he’s kinda cute.” Kotora then excitedly exclaimed “I knew it! But, why don’t you want him to know?” Raikura then said “Well, first off, I’d at least like to tell him myself.” Kotora then laughed sheepishly, and Raikura continued “And, what if he doesn’t like me? I mean, he’s of royal descent, so other, more attractive girls have gotta be swarming him back at the kingdom. So, what if he thinks I’m just another one of them? Just wanting to get with him because of his lineage?” Kotora then said “Weeell, don’t tell him this, but I caught him eyeing you when you arrived back at camp.” Raikura then said “Hehe, thanks. Let’s get back, shall we? I’m sure the boys will be missing us.” The two then headed back, with Raikura given some hope for Jeikudon.
