Description
Hedorah in his aquatic form. This one I took the most liberties with by trying to shape him like a cross between a tadpole and a fish.Related content

Nice Swim for your life little man haha.
This piece though does feel a little bit different from the others though. And I think that boils down to the large amount of negative space. It's something that I struggled with in my first year of college art. Can really see that in some of my earlier art pieces that are in the front of my folders. I always keep those there (even though they are bad nowadays lol), to remind me how to avoid earlier traps that I use to fall into a lot.
You certainly had a really solid idea here. But I think some cropping, movements, and size variations will really help to make this feel a bit more like the others in the set and therefore keep that symmetry nature and visual appeasement to it.
Keep in mind this is like 3 minutes in Photoshop with me just moving the elements around lol
Now I see that you like to have the speech bubble never overlaying on the monster, and you want to make sure that the full monster is in the shot. So I kept that idea. The diver was a bit too small for the size of the image and the vastness just really made Hedorah feel tiny. So I cropped it down and adjusted their sizes. I tried to keep the interesting rock formations that you had and kept the feel of the other images. It's pretty straight forward with limiting the elements in order to keep a straight forward narrative.
Like I said, you had a really solid idea and I liked the image. This is just some of the things that I learned in college that might be used in order to make the image a bit more visually interactive and help with the eye movement of the viewer. As the artist you want to dictate that movement. Tell them where to look, as a pattern in the image. You don't really want them to be wondering around the images looking for subject matters over here and there. Again, my first images in college really suffered from that and it was a while before I figured it out lol!
Anyhoo, here is a sta.sh image I did a mock up of what I was trying to talk about. I'll delete it once you check it out and get a chance to see what I was trying to explain. Sometimes it's hard for me to outline what I am trying to elaborate and discern about an image lol. Anyway, keep up the work man

Oh no I don't think you need to delete that stash pic. I see what you're talking about and appreciate the feedback. I do tend to over estimate the size of the setting and if the separate drawing of the monster I drew will fit in the same happened with my Baby Cthulhu and Shoggoth drawing. I will probably come back to this with a different setting in the future, with less space and try to add more depth instead. I'll leave Sebastian out of it XD

I think that is why I like to do everything in Illustrator for myself. Yeah it takes forever to ink things...but after I have it done...I can adjust the size of the character and not loose any resolution or anything to the pen work cause Illustrator will change the sizes of the image mathematically and keep the ratios perfect. Then I just drag it into Photoshop and just play around with the different elements and see what I can come up with that would be visually interesting. Then I just color and all that good stuff.
But like I said, that quick little mock up was just a suggestion to keep it in line with the rest of the ones you did. I really liked how you did the dangling tendrils on him. Looks very cool. The way the image is, I could picture like a few baby tadpoles like chasing after him. (Wanting to join up to the bigger Hedorah ya know). But yeah, aside from the Sebastian odd thing, I thought it was a really solid idea for a fish Hedorah image.

Oh I don't have illustrator. I can't afford to pay Adobe rent for their programs so what I do is line work on paper then I take a photo of it and work on the rest on MediBang Paint Pro.
And thanks again Yeah the idea of a fish Hedorah kept making me think "He should have something that looks like a fin while keeping the tadpole shape".

I was fortunate enough to get it and Photshop in college for the student discount and have had it since. I didn't know it is a subscription based thing now o_0 that's crazy. I have CS4. That tells you how long I have been using the same freaking program lol! But I am sure there good alternatives to the programs. I hear Gimp is pretty darn good.
But I certainly like your "all forms of Hedorah" more than my first attempt at it. Mine was like like a giant hot mess lol. Colorful as hell, but a hot mess lol!

I actually like the color variations on yours though. It reminds me of the psychedelic rock sequences in the movie.
