Description
For a fan project (apparently). The key words were "savage" and "Gyakushu Goji." I thought I heard "retro" in there as well, so I ran with that
For those unawares, GIGANTIS THE FIRE MONSTER was the original US title for GOJIRA NO GYAKUSHU, otherwise known as GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN.
Why call it "Gigantis"? Well, Godzilla wasn't a franchise type character at the time, so the US distributors decided it would be safer to repackage the film as a "new" monster...or something.

Overall, I like it. It has a bit of that "dull ferocity" problem still, but as a whole, not bad. It's not "retro" per se, but not anti-retro either. It's more of a good, even blend of neo, classical and totally oldschool styles. The image itself isn't all that expressive, but the design could easily be.

The eye really stands out as brighter amongst the rest of the colors. I'm also liking the mouth shape, all wavy and such. The chin spikes are a funny little touch too.
Gojira no Gyakushu always seemed really weird to me. The seriousness of the first one went poof and the fighting was kind of cheesy, but that was just for the times. Oh and the main theme was pretty odd too

Looks great. I remember as a kid I thought that they were two different monsters that just looked rally similar lol I even had a movie monster book that I got from my aunt that had them listed separately.

Well I suppose it was a new monster of the same species. Torn about the fight scene's in that movie as to whether they looked kickass or goofy as hell. But one thing I'm not torn on is the quality of the dub. God DAMN that was horrible. And when you're saying that the dub of a Godzilla movie is horrible, holy crap it has to be bad.
I really like this design, a real neo-classical feel to it. A western style dragon with elements of the eastern variety meeting up with the Gojiran body type. Really good work here. I love the three "hairs" on his chin. Just something so original about it.

God damn, this is awesome. I love the coloration of this one-sorta a fairly happy medium between the "correct" grey and the green most people think Godzilla (or Gigantis in this case) is.
I love the vicious, snaggle-tooth look he has going, and for some reason I really like the blue highlighting you have in some places.

Wow, awesome redesign of Godzilla. Kind of spiky on the head and those chin spikes are an odd addition, but they definitely make him look unique. Wicked looking fangs and menacing looking eyes as well. Overall a very nice look to this take of Godzilla/Gigantis.
