Description
Mutant InvertebrateCRUSTACEOUS REX
HEIGHT: 50 meters
MASS: 24,000 metric tons
BIO:
When ZILLA Jr. was presumed dead, Nick Tatopoulos lead the HEAT team with a heavy heart to Jamaica, where reports of another mutation were flooding across the internet. It was here that a new species of giant squid from the deep ocean had been driven into relatively safer feeding grounds by…something.
As it turned out, Zilla had survived the attack and followed HEAT to the South Seas, where he saved the crew from a massive squid attack. As it turned out, the thing that had chased the squids from their habitat made itself known: a giant crustacean which Randy Hernandez later dubbed CRUSTACEOUS REX, although Victor “Animal” Palotti suggested the name “Giant Walking Crab Cake.” The former stuck.
Crustaceous Rex is a relentless foe, although it is not specifically aggressive towards humans. In fact, the only time it actively chased people was when Nick and French operative Monique DuPre lead the monster into the nearby jungle with a truckload of highway tar. The kaiju was feeding on tar-and-tar-like-substances like that produced by the giant squids, and after Zilla burned up its food supply, it was left with little recourse. When it specifically threatened Nick, Zilla leapt into the fray, and used a combination of wits and a set of GODZILLA-like powers not present in his biological father to defeat the monster, crushing it under tons of rock.
After analyzing C-Rex’s DNA, Nick and Elsie Chapman discovered that it shared a remarkably similar genetic structure to Zilla, and, by extension, Godzilla. What was going on?!
ABILITIES/ASPECTS:
- Armored hide protects from most conventional weaponry
- Surprisingly agile
- Moderate healing factor
- Able to regurgitate tar as a form of self-defense
- Tentacles on underbelly used for grappling

I actually don't realy like it. The original was such a bizzar(sp?) creature it looked like nothing on earth this looks like a bug or crab.
I do like the point of view do. Very dramatic.

Looks almost like an offshoot of the monster seen in the animated Godzilla series based from the U.S. movie.

now THAT'S a crustacean kaiju! nice work here, much more intimidating with the armor and the mandibles.

I've noticed the coloring and lines are smoother than previous artworks. This gives it a sleeker, more graphic look to it, in my opinion. The design of the C-rex is really unique, and I've never seen such a monster like it. Well done!

Very impressive! I love the pose, the bigger, stronger looking arms, and the fact that he has some actual armor so he looks more like a crustacion.

Impressive looking monster you drew, that is an interesting interpretation of the C-Rex. Much better design on the mandibles, they look more like they belong on an Arthropod, the whole thing looks more in sych with a giant Arthropod, except the tentacles of course, but that's just an interesting attribute of the creature.

Next to the Crackler (who doesn't even need G-Neofication to look bad-ass), C-Rex was one of my top favorites from the series. Here, you actually made him bear some crustacean features, which is something that the original never had.
Not that I'm part of the "we want G-Neo Clover" squad, but I assume this'll be the closest thing we'll get to seeing an official G-Neo Clover, seeing as how the two bear an odd yet coincidental resemblence.
I remember the "giant walking crab-cake" line, but did they ever say the name "Crustaceous Rex" in the series?

While I have no love for GINO, I admit that the animated series cooked up some great original monsters that I wouldn't mind see returning to face the real Godzilla someday, either in the comics or the films, or heck, a new cartoon (Toho needs to give Godzilla an anime series already lol).
C-Rex was one of my faves from the series as well, had a great design, very unique. Other note worthy mentions for me include...
1) The Crackler (very cool design, I could see him reimagined as an alien or primordial giant like the Mutos)
2) Cryptocleidus, a solid plesiosaur based kaiju, like the little arms for grappling or crawling on land
3) The Dragma, like its ceratopsian looks
Who were your other top faves?

I think it's both true to the original, and considerably improved. I always did like C-rex, but I also hated how spindly his legs were. This version keeps the stiltwaking, but also maintains a refreshing deal of bulk.
All in all, it just meshes together a lot better.

The style seems reminiscent of that used in Capcoms promotional works, especially FightJam. I loved this thing, ages since I've seen the series though.

This is a vast improvement on the original design of the C-Rex. The original had very little qualities that made it seem remotely crustacean-like. This version has a lot more crustacean-like features, including a lot more armor-plating. The original had little to no armor on it, whereas this one has armor everywhere, giving it a distinct resemblance to a crab or lobster. Very nice job, as always.
