Well this fight allready happened before in Marvel's comics and the Avengers couldn't stop him.

The Avengers are going to win this one, but make no mistake, it'll be one helluva fight! It would take at least 2 or 3 movies before the final outcome & even then it would still end with Godzilla going home!

Their heaviest hitter is useless since Godzilla absorbs all forms of radiation. Lightening can increase his strength. The others can't do shit.

The lightning thing is King Kong's shtick... Hulk & Thor both have near limitless strength, Black Widow & Hawkeye are good at finding an opponent's weak points & exploiting them, Tony Stark is super intelligent & can devise a solution to almost any situation & Captain America has superhuman abilities. Godzilla's scales give him an increased resistance to most forms of damage, he can absorb all forms of radiation, however it has been seen that if he absorbs too much he goes nuclear, his sheer size alone gives him near limitless strength & endurance & his atomic breath attack is pretty deadly. He is, however, a creature of purpose, rarely appearing without reason & thus the Avengers would eventually discover that reason & aid Godzilla in ending it before sending him home to monster island.

i agree that they would join forces. but let's say he's a evil clone. godzilla can absorb lightening just not man made. so thor is useless aswell. and yes hulk can have a good chance thats only if he's angry enough if not he'll be knocked unconscious. also marvel did a story that godzilla was in and he beat them.

Marvel actually had their own Godzilla series. He did fight the Avengers. And the Fantastic Four. And the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. At the same time. Spider Man was also present.Β It was epic.Β Β

Marvel also had a Transformers series where Nick Fury made a brief mention of Godzilla. This means there's a continuity where the Marvel characters, the Transformers and Godzilla all exist together.

Here's my stance on the fight.Β
Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye & Shield are a non-factor. Normal humans with military equipment haven't worked on Godzilla before and won't work on him now.
Iron Man is also a non-factor. He uses super advanced technology, but still even the most advanced inventions and weapons have never worked on Godzilla except for one famous example: the Oxygen Destroyer. Because Dr. Serizawa destroyed the blueprints and took the secrets of the weapon to the grave with him, Iron Man can't build one himself and has no other weapons to take Godzilla out.Β
Hulk is a tank and could easily match Godzilla's brute strength and even surpass it. The problem however lies in the source of Hulk's awesome power: radiation. Godzilla absorbs radiation and treats it like a food source. That means Godzilla could drain Hulk like a sponge taking him out of the battle.Β
Thor would be a tough opponent. Based on the comic crossover, Godzilla and Thor have equal physical strength so it comes down to their other abilities. Thor is faster and can shoot lightning, but Godzilla has hax regeneration and atomic power on his side. Lighting has a mixed history with Godzilla: in King Kong vs. Godzilla he was weak against man-made electricity, but in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla lightning gave him magnetic powers, and in every other film electricity/lightning does nothing.Β
It would be a tough, awesome battle (Disney, Legendary, Marvel & Toho need to make a crossover happen ASAP), but I give it to the king.Β

Why are so many people assuming that Thor Lightning is useless? if he wanted thor could focus all his energy into 1 blast (God Blast? not sure if his still has that power with no odin force) not to mention hurling the hammer at him using his full strength would have to do damage to godzilla, Thor is as strong as godzilla and mjolnir can absord energy and return it tenfold if i remember right, this is actually and even fight, Thor & Hulk (other Avengers help civilians) Vs Godzilla.
